what weights in m10

i just got a new 09 m10 and i was looking in the clutches and in the primary it has weights that have the number 716-73 on them but the chart says that they are suppose to be 80gram 0746-673 for 6-9000. Are these the wrong ones? or am i missing something here? the springs seem to be the right ones.

take a weight out and put it on a scale and weight it.... Dont know what ones your are suspose to have... depends on altitude mainly, track size, rider weight and pipes such and such....

What have you done to your sled?

I run the same weights in my '09 LE 1000 and they work great. I ride from 8k to 10500 and my sled pulls to 7800 and drops to 7750 on a climb in all conditions. SLP exhaust, PCIII, 44/36 helix, Stock Ti spring in primary that came with the LE sleds and stock orange spring in secondary. My sled came with different weights stock, I can't remember off hand what they were though?

i havent done anything yet i was just looking to see what had all changed since my king cat. Am i gonna like the M1000 as much as the king cat? for the first trip out west i am gonna put on somebodies can so that i can get ride of that big suitcase for exhaust and then a set of vforce 3's the new 10 cat seat and some snow mesh in the front of the hood other than that just gonna see what you guys recommend.

I honestly didn't like the 1000's when they came out. I never rode one that worked to what I thought it should. I haven't been impressed with any stock 1000 that I have rode so far. I'm sure there are some good setups for the stock 1000, I just haven't been on one. Until I rode SLP's '08 test M1000, I thought they were dog's. My recomendation is to run the SLP setup. I live in their backyard so it's easy for me to use them, but the sled is completely different once you bolt on the SLP goodies.

It's a great thing to have stock reliability with mod sled power :).

Good luck friend

The stock 09 m1000 works very well. I like the slp can the best on the stock 09. Don't waste your money on v-force reads, no one yet has told me they could feel a difference.

Re: Reeds

I had a set of V-force on my M1K for a season - waste of $$$. No difference in throttle response in my opinion. I have a set of Boyesen Rage Cages on now - a little (minimal) better then stock - runs a bit crisper on the bottom end and off idle. I suggest save your money and buy the SLP pipe set and fuel controller, or a torsional secondary kit from RK Tek. These are mods that you will feel in the seat of your pants.

X2 on the reeds waste of $$$! slp pipe works great on stock motor. Speedwerx pipe works the best on mod motors and is close on a stock motor. i like the mbrp can the best its a little loud but its the lightest! 73 gram weights seem very light for 6 to 9k! we run 75s at 10,000ft with or without slp pipe.
