What track?

Me and a buddy have been having this debate for a while now. He runs a OVS m8 and I run a BD pro. We are both thinking of going to a 174, but can't decide on a 2.5 or 3 inch. What do others have for an opinion? Any experiences with the 2.5 or the 3 inch?

I've always had 162's tell last year and bought a used Twisted HCR, then stretched it to a 162 and I like the 153 so I'm going back to a 153. Way more challenge, and fun. Go 3".

You've got turbo. Honestly what hill is that steep that you can't already climb with what you have? I can climb to the moon with a 153! I'd love to try a 153x3", but I don't think the 3" paddles will hold up to the abuse of 65 plus days a year that I ride. I can't imagine buying a new $1000 track every year!

A 174" plus turbo = too damn much!

i beleive i just read that camo was doign a 153x3".. personally i think that on one of those sleds would be INSANE!!! super nimble and insane traction.

3 will be very obviously better then the 2.5... just curious how they are still doing on reliability.

Reliability seems to be ok. A friend ran the 174 3 inch CE all last season and the thing looks like new. Seems to be not a lot of people are a fan of the 174 on SW. I figured the boosted crowd would be.

Yep..it's actually be a 156 since they can only do even number of pitches. Hopefully by November....16 wide only.

Why is that 3.0 pitch goes into 153 51 times?

3inch 153 would be great!

Thanks,

KJP

Its just two different rider styles, the ones that say 153 like to ride more backcounty tree riding like you see in the schooled vids, the 174's for the crazy canadian shoot climbers. usually thats how it goes but not completely.

It has to do with their existing molds so it has to be an even number....also you don't end up with an odd set of paddles like the some odd numbered tracks. We also wanted 153, but 156 is as close as they can make it in a 3" paddle. I'll take it! Maybe go to a slightly larger rear idler if needed to take up the slack.

Winter brew, do you know if this is going to be a extreme paddle pattern or something new like the peak pattern?

I heard Brad tried a 3" in place of a 2.5" that was pulling around 100mph on a yamaha. It dropped his track speed down in the 60's and his ground speed was slower. Just what I heard. Even if this is true I would think a 800 with lower track speed would benefit from the 3".

The old challenger extreme with full width paddles.

As for the loss of track speed concerns....yes, it will be a little slower,it's a lot of track. We saw a drop of 3-4 mph on sustained climbing track speeds on a stock 800,still spinning the 162 3" in the mid 40's. Actual speed was probably same or higher and the mark on the hill was waaaayy higher.
Any turbo setup should have no problem spinning a 3".

Hey guys, was just wondering if any of you knew if the new Peak 2.5" track will fit on the M's??? They are only listed as 163" 15 or 16" wide, no pitch given on Tracks USA

Hey guys, just got my new 2.5 Camo ex and was wondering just how easy it is to swap tracks out on the M's? Read a couple different posts on different websites and its getting confusing... Does anyone have an easy answer or maybe some pics they could post?? Would be greatly appreciated:)
