What too buy???????

Just sold my old 99 RMK 600, it was time for an upgrade. But now what should i buy? have about $6-8000 to spend. I really like the 05-06 M7 cats, but would also like a 600rr or iqr sled with a 144, but some guys are saying just get a 800 renegade... So i have had polaris and ski-doo but i am thinking about trying a cat now, and i like the looks of them, what are the pros and cons of each? I have heard the cat 700 is very reliable and so is the skidoo rev 800...but the polaris 700 and 800s are not so much? I would like something that is all around good sled with track and speed and trail performance with mountian capabilities. and efi sounds nice too! i have never riden a new cat but have friends who say they handle nice, i like how the revs handle are they similar? Any help would be good

lots of good prices on M7's and Revs, you could probably pick up a decent sled for $4000. Lots of good info around about the two.

Rev
-will outclimb M7
-more rider forward
-reverse
-more power

M7
-easier to carve/sidehill
-more dependable
-700 motor is one of the most dependable motors out there
-EFI is nice

For 8k you can get an 08/09 M8 new.
As for Polaris. The 700's are pretty much trouble free, the 800's have had some problems at lower elevations.

03.5 through 06 REV

I love the performance of the 800ho, and the REV chassis handles descent, and is great in the powder. You asked how the REV compares in handling to the Cat? They don't compare at all. In my opinion they are two totally different machines. I am used to the REV so when I jump on the M-Cats they feel like garbage. Cat riders who jump on my REV think it feels like garbage. It's all in what you get used to.

If you can find an '06 REV you will have some money left over for mods. And there are some great mods you can do for cheap. I would stick with the Summit myself. They still handle well, trail very well, but have way more potential in the big snow.

sleds

For 8 you can get a hold over 08 m1 with the powerclaw.. (talk to mtn magic in preston, id) great sled, great price! But you can't go wrong with the Dragon either, nice sleds, most run well... coming off a 99 600 you'll like the m or dragon chassis more than the rev... just my .02... no matter what enjoy the new digs!!! Congrats man!!

Dexterdog,

I just sent you a PM. My choice is a Dragon 700 for the money. Talk to Ollie, RJ and some of the other guys who have 700's to see what they think. They will shoot you straight. I'd love to sell you mine, but if it's not mine I would still recommend that you go in this direction.
