What Spark Plug are You Using?

I've never been disappointed with NGK BPR9ES running them in my old 02 800 and my 05 900. My 09 700 has the original Champion RN57YCC plugs in it, but I will be switching to NGK the first time I encounter a problem.

Plugs

What are you putting it in? I have found with the 800 CFI that although the sled runs fine with the stock Champion RN57YCC or NGK BPR9ES, the low RPM run quality is best with the NGK BPR9EIX.

I'm using the BPR9EIX in my 09 777 RMK. Even with 40:1 in the tank for break-in and around 43:1 from the pump I had no fouled plugs.

On a fresh motor this year, (with Fix Kit) I picked it up from the dealer with a the Champion plugs.

Did about 300 miles on one set of champions, and wanted to have a fresh set, so my buddy picked up some plugs and they sold him the NGKs, BPR9ES from a different dealer.

Here is what I noticed;

The NGK plugs seem to burn a bit leaner than the Champions. I've been watching my AF Wideband gauge and using a PCV to get things where I feel comfortable.

For the first 300 miles, I was liking the way the Champions were running, and the readout I was getting on the AF gauge. Made me feel confident things were running rich enough.

Then I pop in the NGKs and ride for the day and notice things are reading leaner than what they were with the Champions plugs. The only thing I have changed is the plug.

It would seem that the NGK plugs burns hotter than the Champion, not a ton, but maybe in these motors, it might be enough to create some issues.

Any thoughts?

Champions only. NGK's run crappy in these Liberty engines, really noticeable in the carbed engines as they load up. Those that run the loud cans are too deaf to notice.

BPR9EIX are ridiculously good. My oil pump failed on my dragon and went into full oil mode which is an 18:1 Ratio and it never fouled a plug in the 4 tanks of gas and oil I ran through it until I got it fixed.

I used to run E3 plugs in my 09 d8. Ran about 1500 miles with no problems except the plug cap would pop off after running in some big bumps. I now switched to the NGK BPR9EIX because I am running a silber turbo and thats what they recommend to run. So far everything seems to look good

Using NGK Iridium BR9EIX in my 2012 RMK with Silber Turbo gaped at 0.018 "
Have burnt 325 Liters of 100 LL Ave Gas with out a fouled plug.

The Polaris Mechanic said to run Champion Copper. He gave me a new set of plugs to replace my NGK Iriduims along with a couple other sets since I am running extra oil for breaking in the fix.
