What RPM's on 09 D8?

I am new to the polaris world and just bought an 09 Dragon 800 163" and was wondering what max RPM's i should tune for? I was getting around 8000 RPM peak last weekend when i went riding, so, assuming 8250 is where i wanna be i got 1 size smaller weights for this week.... Is 8250 too high for this motor? On my last sled (07 Ski-Doo 800R) it pulled best at 8300+RPM's.

Any help is appreciated.

Go to the above mentioned thread under the "increasing your iq" sticky. TONS of good info. Some of the best comes from a fellow AK resident. And yes, you are correct, shoot for 8250 to 8300 and you won't be disappointed. Trust me, it is worth reading the thread. I got all my clutching info off of this thread and it changed the way my sled performed night and day.
