What oil to run

I see they call for "injector oil" for my BD turbo.

Why? Wouldn't some Mobil 1 or other oil work better with the high heat?

i use mobil 1 0w40 full synthetic, not sure what which works better though

BD suggests injection oil because the oil tank they use (or used in the past) will flood the turbo bearing when the sled is upside down, this excess oil will they migrate into the charge tube and then the engine, so it’s a good thing its oil injection oil…they say they have a fix this year with a remote res bottle, don’t quote me on the fix, this is just what I read here

The Twisted turbo oil res has baffles and other designs so the oil will not migrate in the charge tube and on down the line….so they suggest 5/40 or is it 5/30?? Whatever, it’s common syn motor oil sold everywhere

And yes, its clear the turbo should have syn motor oil….but the 2 stroke injection oil is working fine and wont fail the turbo itself

BD still shows this on the Polaris instructions, I wonder if they forgot to update it online.

Filling Oil Tank
A. We recommend using 5W‐30 motor oil for
your turbo. Fill the Boondocker Oil tank to the
line as shown. Be sure to check the oil level
periodically.
