What oil are you guys running in your trucks?

I just got a different truck a couple months ago and am looking at different oils. What does everybody run my truck is an 08 duramax with 42000 miles on it. I was thinking eithor schaeffers or ams oil. Has anybody run any of them two on here?

Ran ams and then royal in my diesel 120000 and still as clean as could be at every oil change.

I have a 09 dura and run ams oil, its all good!

I run Amsoil's Premium 15w-40 in my 09 Chevy. I also have their filter by-pass system installed on it. I just changed my oil yesterday after almost 20K miles just because I felt like it. I also send in oil samples to use it that long - helps offset the cost of the oil. I have 20K now and will send in a sample at 27K.

Ran Schaeffer oil for 20 years with good results, but they finally priced themselves out of the market for me. Now running Amsoil.

One of my best friends tried Schaeffer's supreme 7000 15/40 in his Power Stroke. Would not run right until the oil got warmed up. Switched back to Amsoil and it ran fine again.

Check with jsledder for your Amsoil needs. Sure treats me right.

If I didn't have the bulk Phillips 66 guardol 15w-40 ti we have in our shop, it'd be Amsoil 15-40.


We have been considering changing back to Delo though

I used mobil delvac 15w-40 diesel oil in my 08 duramax. I always got it on sale at the local O'Reilly for $10/gal.

we run rotella t6 5w40 full synthetic in our diesel and shell 5w30 full synthetic in the gasser

Rotella t6 5w40 full synthetic in the duramax. GMC suggested 5w40 syn the first winter I had it and I've just kept using it year round.

Rotella t6 cant beat the pice for a synthetic sometimes wallmart even has it on sale. I change at 3,000 with Fuel Filter A MUST AT EVERY OIL CHANGE

Changing a full synthetic at 3000 miles in a diesel is a waste of money. Do an oil analysis and you`ll see you can go MUCH further. Unless you let your truck idle 10 hours a day.....
