What mule tape to use?

I work for a telephone company, you all probably know but the reason its use to pull cable through conduit is because it won't cut into the seeps (90's). It is used over and over again. I'm sure if any of you know a person that works for a utility company they could get you a chunk of it. What's funny is I don't carry it and have access to it, but I will have it next year.

Bought a 3000' roll of 3/4" 2500lb stuff. Selling it for the below listed prices.
Shoot me a PM with what you want and I'll get you my paypal info.

200' for $28 shipped
100' for $15 shipped
50' for $9 shipped
Will combine shipping costs if you want more then 200'.

2500' left.

offroadmatt those are good prices. I bought 500 feet of the 2500lb stuff and I paid a little over $100 at Platt Electric. Can somebody name or show me a good knot that will untie easily using this stiff. No big deal to cut off a few feet but some knot knowledge is always useful.

I picked up some 1/2" kevlar military webbing a few years back. It claimed to be rated at 5000lbs test! Hard to believe that is an accurate number, but I have never broken it. It really is some pretty impressive stuff! I ended up with about 2000' of it and have used it for all sorts of things. I carry about a hundred feet or so in my pack for a rescue line, a couple shorter length in my sled for towing and repairs, I braided 3 strands together for a heaver tow line for my sled and braided 9 strands together for a tow line for my truck. I like the small braided line for towing because it gives it a little more stretch/cushion for pulling.

As for knots for attaching it to something...instead of just tieing directly to something I like to use a "double figure 8 on a bight". I tie one at the end of the strap and one about a foot from the end. I then use a heavy carabiner on the loops at the end of the strap, then just loop it around whatever you are hooking to(ski loop, bumper etc) and then hook to the second set of loops. You can use a single 8 on a bight also but I like the double because of the strength.

My question is...for you guys that carry 100+ feet of rope or whatnot, how do you keep it from getting tangled up? I have yet to come up with a good way to keep it from turning into a rats nest..

I have some in my sled as well.

I have some heavy weight nylon material that I put velcro on to make an adjustable sleeve to hold the rope. Wind the rope up in a loop, compress it into the shape of a dog bone and roll it into the nylon sleeve and the velcro keeps it secure.

I've got access to tons of the 1500 stuff. we used to try use it more yhen once for pulling fiber optics but we get it for pretty much free. I dont know if it keeps it strengh after being soaked in pulling lube.

Still Have 1500' left if anybody wants some
