It is time to replace my old school Polaris, was checking out the leftovers and can't decide. 09 or 10 nytro mtx, 10 rmk 800 144, or summit 800 146. I dont put that many miles on per year, priced 9500-12500 here in canada. dont really need a mountain sled but want one, dont ride the trails often, and plan to start going to the hills again. Give me all your thoughts.

If your only going to the mountains once in a while and don't put on alot of km's you'd be more than happy with the yamaha nytro. Low maintenance and will be a trouble free sled for years bullet proof motor.

Out of the three you mentioned Id go Nytro all day. Great handling, 4 stroke reliability, fuel economy and will do everything you want in the mountains and on the flats.

I went 2010 Nytro and can't imagine owning one of those other ticking time bombs. 2 smokers have to run so lean with so littel oil to meet the governments requirments that it is only a matter of time Tick Tick Tick.........BOOM!

08 m1000 brand new for $8400 + turbo +/- $5000 = Big Dog Sled for $13,400

Sorry but you got worked over: Tell me you really didn't pay $8,400 for a holdover '08 M1000
I got my '08 M1000 brand new last Febraury from a dealer for $5,300. I have seen a bunch of them in the $6,000 range.
Are you in Canada? I have heard sleds cost a lot more up there but I had no idea it was that much!

wow really... ive had two ski-doos an arctic cat and the awfull dragon that has so many problems yet i out of all of those sleds have never had one engine failure.
not that i care keep riding those 4 stokes gives me more untracked areas haha.

In my opinion I would go with the RMK 800 as my first choice and the Summit 800 as the second choice. I am not a four-stroke guy just yet (even though I have always ridden four-stroke dirt-bikes). I am slightly biased towards Polaris just because I have great dealer support, but other than that I have no major issues with any other brand. Every sled has its pros and cons, in the end it is just personal preference. Good luck, either way you'll probably be very satisfied with your decision and plus you're getting a new sled!
