What kind of fish is this??

Last I saw caviar went for about $45 per oz. as fisherman would recieve about $20 per oz to sell to distribution.

That was a neat looking fish.... Is it a fresh water fish?? We have some huge stuegon here in the Columbia river!!!!

You want to check out an ugly fish... Check out the Snakeheads that are destroying fish stalks..... These buggers can walk on land and live out of water for a couple day's.... They take one big bite out of their prey and that's it.... They are ***ly!!!

Some people also call those spoonbill. I have fished for them on the rivers in central Missouri. They are a prehistoric fish similar to Sturgon. They are bottom feeders and to my knowledge don't go after any type of bait. They spend most of their time in the depths around the dams and run up river to spawn. The season for them is during their spawning season cause the only way to catch them is by snagging. We used a setup similar to what you would use for Halibut. 100 lb plus line with an 8 ounce sinker at the bottom. You then tie LARGE treble hooks (2 or 3) up the line from the weight. Launch it across the river and snag away. Limit was 1 per day per person when I fished for them back in 91. The largest I caught was 68 lbs.

ick, Muskie, Northern pike under 5lbs rank right up there with eelpout. like trying to fillet a bag of snot!

lol. fosgate, i'm with ya, we don't even let them in the boat.

Took a customer to canada one year and he hooked a 43 inch northern, fought it forever. You should have seen his face when I grabbed the knife and act like i was going to cut the line, rather than the net.
It is on his wall, but he is still po'd about the knife thing.

Paddlefish are a filter feeder that eat zoo plankton (kinda like a whale). Right now the spoonbills and sturgeon have got a fierce competitor. We've got Big Head Carp and Silvers below Gavins Point now. They'll eat up to 2/3 their body weight daily and grow up to 60+lbs. Even though they say that the meat of a bighead tastes like white tuna, I would prefer the paddlefish any day.

Ah yeah, that's a good time right there but come prepared with a lot of beer. I could barely stand in this pic.
