What is up with the new Poo's????????

I am heaing about drive shafts breaking and drive belts stripping off teeth.

Is Poo going to recall this and make it right with those of you that bought the new Poo's soon--I hope--that is alot of cash out lay for a mchine that seems to have simple issues.

You would have thought they would have learned about the driveshaft issue from Ski Doo's issues back in 08.

I heard of 4 Poo's towed out of Baker saturday alone and 2 pulled out of Gallagher today--Not Good.

Just rode mine today, 40 miles and no problems with the Quickdrive or belt. Ran into a over-temperature light real quick...

No stripping of teeth today...

When I talked with the local rep, he mentioned that allot of guys are not doing the Belt Break in and varying the throttle position under 50% and limit the full throttle use for the first 100 miles...

There is no Official recall of any info from Polaris yet...

Ya that is kind of bs that they didn't do more testing for how many have gone down. I would be kind of mad and the guys that have to wait so long for parts after paying that much on a new sled, when the snow just got here. Hopefully POO makes it right for them. Mine has been pretty good to me so far but I have chain case.

The belts don't have anything to do with the driveshafts snapping though, do they?
What seemed like a great idea (belt drive) doesn't sound too hot to me if you need to break in the belt for 100mi. Heck, that's 2+ days of riding potentially or one looooong trail ride at 50% or less throttle to brake in the belt.
If that's the case they need to "pre" break in the belts. COuldn't be too hard to builde a machine that runs 5,10,20 belts at a time and breaks them in properly.

Four rides, over 150 miles on mine now, no issues except she's a crazed bat out of hell with a lust for pow. Pretty sure if my shaft was gonna go, she'd dropped her pants sometime in the last two days of riding cause she was getting a pounding.

Those of you with very many miles need to take a look at the shaft. My riding partner put 25 miles on the first ride and looked at it when he got home and it was splitting where it is glued. And yes his glue was hard yada yada yada, I am a polaris guy and I will say it myself that shaft design is a major failure. Those fix kits in my opinion are all a joke, all they are going to do is prolong the failure. The glue will still fail and it will start pushing apart and destroy the bearings and possibly damage the bulkhead. I hope polaris is on designing a new shaft and get it out quick. In the meantime they need to be replacing it with last years shaft until they design the new one.

What ya doing picking on me. lol I already broke one at 96 miles have it fixed and clamped and another 150 miles on it up in Revy last wk. So far the belt looks like new. There powder pushers for sure. How ya doing anyway?? Jim gave me a call 2 nights ago he hasn't ridden yet. I'm pushing 400 plus miles between the 2 sleds this yr so far. Be safe and have a great yrsee ya on the hill, going up tomorrow.

13 Pro, driveshaft swapped to steel/12 shaft to avoid hassle and she rips, Loves the deep! Not excited about spending $350 but Iam riding!:face-icon-small-con

Put a good ride on my '13 saturday. 80 miles of 2.5' powder. "break-in" lasted first 20 miles, then just rode it the rest of the day. No issues yet. Ill be throwing on a clamp for sure, but its working awesome so far.

I did about 6 miles of break in...and said screw it...220 miles later...everything is good.

Hey guys,
If you haven't broke the shaft yet, you will. I would not take a new pro out on the snow without fixing the drive shaft first, either with the collar or putting steel huck rivets in every side. I know many sleds that have been fixed with the rivets and none have broke. But putting in the 2012 drive shaft is the way to go. What a huge mistake by Polaris. I seen 3 in Revy last weekend on Saturday that broke, heard of more.

Or just be ready for other options to find the way out.
