what is the best sled for a women

What do you ride now? How do you normally ride, and in what type of terrain?

I do a cross of trail/powder/flatland/mountain terrain so I got a MXZ Renegade 600 ETec. It's a good 137" track hybrid machine that can do a little of anything and yet I have friends that ride short tracks where the mountain sleds fear to go, and friends that ride long track mountain sleds on trails. Skill counts more than anything (can't wait until I have some! Ha). But a sled set up for what you normally do can make it a lot more comfortable, for certain.

I have been riding for about 15 years.... and I ride what the guys ride. I don't like the heavy sleds ( 900 - 1000 cc's or the 4 stokes ) as i am not that big, but I ride with the guys and i would be left behind if i didn't ride something similar to what they ride. I strictly ride in the mountains.... in the steep and the deep, so i ride an 07 800 rev and really like it!! It is easy enough for me to start and it handles beautifully, and i can easily keep up with the group.

I ride the mountain terrain, and I chosse to ride an M-8 That’s What I ride and I LOVE THE SLED.... BEST MOST RELIABLE SLED I HAVE EVER HAD..IT’S THE best sled for boonedocking type riding, The M8 is fun for high marking but all I can say these m's are awesome, Buy The 2010 sounds like a wicked sled from the reading up I’ve done on it, I think is it worth the extra money??
The M-series sleds handle awesome. You won't be disappointed. I would go with the M8 right off the start, you will have enough power to get you out of most situations and the track is awesome for hillclimbing, sidehilling, boondocking, and even trail riding you cant go wrong with the M-8:present:

I got my wife a 07 dragon 700 and she really likes it. By the end of the day she isnt all tired out from bouncing around and she can throw it around easily.

I've ridden a sled like Puddy Tats & thats what I've saving for - I also understand that the M7's are good too. I don't think I'd like to get one too long in the track. I think Puddy Tat has my dream Jeep also. Good thing I got a Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas or else my eyes would be real green!!

Hey klr,

Im with Puddy Tat...the M series sleds are awesome! I started with a Ski Doo, then went to a Mountain Max and now have an M7 with a 153 track. Our whole group rides the m-series sleds and Im talking 10 total. These are great sleds for trail, boondocking, climbing or whatever! Easy to ride and manuever through the trees. My next sled will be an 8 but for now my 7 still has a whole lotta life left and many more mountains to climb.

Good luck with your search :D

i have been riding for 5 years.

5 years where? What kind of ridng? What do you want to do? Budget?

It's easy to say go get "this sled" but the one I would say rocks for me (West Mountain riding) might not rock for you if you are East flatlander. (example)

NO ONE SLED IS GOOD FOR ALL WOMEN. :beer;

Need more info about YOU the rider, your terrain, your wishes/goals, etc. Until then..... all of this advice is based upon what works for total strangers.

So, do tell! :cool:

I ride an 05 Rev and while its been a good sled to me I've been interested in the new M8. Rode one on New Year's Day and I'm sold....:D Love how the thing handles in the powder and how much power it has.

I think I would have to say that if you're going to go with something that new, get the 2010. They have drasticly changed the suspention and several other things on the 2010's. I just bought a 10 Summit X 800, and it's by far the funnest sled I've ever owned. They are currently the lightest stock sled on the market. I have a friend that's maybe a 100 pounds soaking wet and maybe 5 feet tall, she currently rides a 600 RMK. She's ridden mine a bit recently and she loves it. The problem she has with her Polaris is mostly the steering, which even to me is very "heavy". The Polaris chassis to me seems like your riden a po-go-stick, Like they are all over the place and seem harder to control. Don't get me wrong the 09's skidoo's are good sleds too, however they have pretty stiff front ends which make them harder to lean from side to side and when boondocking this is a must. So far everything I have read bout the 2010's has been possitive, NOONE has any complains about them. Yes, they are new and it will take sum time for the Nay say'ers to come out of the woodworks but I would recommend this sled for anyone. It's stable enuogh that you don't really have to worry about it bucking you off all the time, but not so stiff that you can't lean it when you want to... :)

Of course this is totally my opinion, and everyone has to ride with they feel most comfortable on. If you have a few riden buddies with the different brands, ask to take them all for a ride, see which you like the best, which one fits you and your riding style the best before you buy.
Good luck on your search :beer;:beer;

I have a Yamaha Nytro MTX. My husband put a Moutain Tamer suspension under it last year for me. I could really tell the difference. Much lighter and easier to handle.:)
