what is a "pump gas" m1000 supposed to run for boost?

im pretty sure 7-8 is too much as my motor is blown up... so where should it be or do i need to run staight race gas next time?

I have run up to 6 on long pulls at 6000 ft never pushed it past that unless there was race fuel involved. sorry to hear about your motor by the way I have extra pistions and cyclenders

9-11k was waiting for the boost solenoid to break in but i guess it was already? i will let you know if i need anything, i think it put a hole in the mag side piston but never seized so i hope it isnt terrible inside! i will be investing in some race gas now!

Why carry extra cylinders and pistons if Twisted Kits are so reliable?? They shouldn't burn down!!!;) Ha Ha Ha

WOW! I didn't realize Twisted Turbo kits were also suppose to overcome det. when someone pushes the boost to fuel quality ratio. :)

Mini Me, sorry to hear about your condition, good news is, it's not terminal. I'm running my M-1000 at around 8 pounds above 5000' and down around 5 pounds in the 2500' to 4500' range...this on 100LL or a 50/50 mix of 92/110. This may be a bit of overkill, but cheap insurance. :beer;

just fyi for product tester its a bd turbo
yep i didnt think detonation would get me in 2 rides, ebc is a complete mystery to me why it cant come down anymore? i guess having a turbo is going to be spendy to learn the right way!

at 10,000+ if you use 91oct you can run 9lbs max but if the 91oct you buy has any ethanol so long to your motor. ask to see the spec sheet on the fuel. the only thing that should be on it is dye detergent but some people add 5 to 15% ethanol.

You might get 9 #S OUT OF AN 8 but I would like to see you pull a hill on 9#s on 91 on a m1000.

radski I got extra ones from when I put my 1200 together.and when you have over 100 m1000 turbos to service with guys almost as turbo savy as you on them you need parts to keep people happy.

Whats up with all the heartburn from the Twisted Sisters? Its all in good fun. BTW, from my experience, every turbo owner should carry 1 Cylinder and a set of pistons just to be safe...so I agree with Product Tester.

I blew my head off today. Running way to much boost. Made a huge mess, and scratched a piston. Guess what, I had a spare piston and cylinder.

I only dish it out in fun. BTW, I saw a Twisted kit run over the holidays, and it ran good, but didn't keep up with the little ol M7.;)

I also saw a OVS 2010 M8 bite the dust today. Burned the PTO side down. He didn't have a spare cylinder or a Piston. Only a Tow strap.

Only had about 60 miles on the sled.

So if you're running pump 91 non ethanol with a few gallons of race (enough to bring it to say 95 octane) can you run 6-7 safely?

i just burned myn up too!

How much can be ran on m1000 with 100% 100ll? I just burned up a pto piston and cylinder on about a 20 sec w/o throttle pull egts were about 1175 and charge temp was 185! Melted the exhaust side of piston down to rings! Was running about 8.5 lbs boost at about 10,400 ft were it went down. Was running about 50/50 100ll and vp 110! Piston wash seemed pretty dark? Any ideas I would think with that fuel I should have been safe to at least 10-12 pounds!

What kit and fuel controller, what was your air fuel ratio saying in that long pull if you got one?

ttt

It's a push rg turbo 3071 tial 86 housing with boondocker 3d tuning! Not running a/f prolly going to get one though

BD tunner, would be my guess for the cause, to darn confusing to know what your getting with egts, IMO and with your fuel mix 8.5lbs should be easily done. I think a friend of mine was running 8lbs with 91 and 2gal of 110 with a gen1 BD ebc pg kit.

At 9-11k I think 6 is pretty safe with good gas and the right kit tuned right. 8lbs I would add a little but not too much octane,
