What happened to all the hype of the Push Turbos?

It's hard for a company to sell a kit they have a hard time making a map for. I would love to have a vipek but when it takes someone sledstew with some help from hm turbos almost a year and a half to get a good map for the sleds and they think they can do it In a couple months come on!!! Why haven't we heard more from rebass with his???? Don't get me wrong I would love a standalone for my sled but is it just the push kit or what's going on??? It looks like Cody Phillips racing and Bryce and the other one sorry cant remember have things looking pretty good for the vipek. Anyways I want a standalone for my sled and think there is going to be some other company's bringing them to the table here in the near future.... One that is a lil closer to home too :face-icon-small-win sorry for the long rAnt hops it doesn't derail your thread

will be interested to see

I have been wondering the same thing. I am 2 weeks and counting from riding my new turbo's ViPec from HM.

I dont see ,eany user comments...I will be sure to comment

i agree with most of you guys, the standalone ECU is changing the game drasticaly ad for good but turbo kit maker need to adjust and re-think their kit configuration also(takes time). as of now, the lack of tuning expertise is a major problem that we are trying to overcome....some turbo maker are way in advance on others in that departement. Shane,Cody philip racing and turbo performance are a great example it can be learned with some effort. a 2 stoke is a total different animal than a 4 stroke, in fact, with the 1100 turbo, we went from dyno to the snow and it was 98% functional and 95% of the people test driving one of our map(270 hp on pump 91) said it was perfect.......beleive me guys, with a 2 stroke after dyno, still a lot of job to be done on snow!!! who ever will come out with a standalone unit , they will face the same lack of tuning expertise on the market and for now that is the biggest problem in the industry. ran my sled 2011 hm turbo rmk yesterday for the first time in 3 feet of fresh pow and it ran, again, perfect(i have recorded a 30 min gopro hd video i will post later) ......tuning expertise is building now and as it is growing, more and more good kits will be put on snow.

we are in touch with realbass every week!! all goes smooth for him, sled rips !! in fact he rode with boondocker's team(burandt) for a week and i let you ask him what happen. he is still working on clutching but the rest is good for him......push is late on clutching right now:face-icon-small-fro

This isn't meant to be a shot at vipec, just a question. Originally with the release of the vipec I was under the impression that anyone could buy one of these, tune it for their turbo easily, and be riding without a laptop very shortly there after. By the sounds of it that is not the case now since you need people very experienced with mapping to make this work, and it still takes quite a bit of time? Or am I missing something along the way here?

The ecu can be dialed in by average guy with a bit of knowledge, but the idea behind a full standalone is to have a specific configuration working excellent wich is fesable... Turbo guys need to adjust to such a tool, tools that werent available before. Again tuning expertise is the key because this ecu is a tool to a manufacturer standard and more.

My riding partner is waiting for his push/vipec combo. He is hoping to get it by mid January. Apparently waiting on some new ecu's as the current batch keep burning down. Not sure what the cause is, but he's debating on going with a fuel controller and scratching the vipec idea until next year.

this is absolutely wrong ......0 ECU went down.....push is wainting on some parts(clutching).

My bad, thought I was in the Cat section. His sled is a cat, not a poo. If none have gone down, please visit with the push/vipec installer in Wishek, ND. Either yourself or they are misinforming their customers. Pm if you would like....

Hi. Don't worry. Both Vi Pec turbo sleds running is perfect. Need some tuning the clutching.
We had some problem with one of this sled, but problem was stock oil feed to oil pump. Problem solved!

Either you misunderstood something or are confused. Jeff has a Pro with the vipec on it. Other than pucking a driveshaft, it has run great. He has no Cat ecu's cause they are not out yet. I live 30 miles away and talk with him all the time. He would have told me of a problem if there was one.

I have a push kit all installed and ready to go. Unfortunately I am also waiting for clutching and in turn the final map after snow testing. I have sourced my own clutching options and am hoping for the best as I leave in 2 weeks. Early adopter again.........

The push kit is very well put together and the vipec people have been great to deal with. Its amazing how advanced the vipec is. Unfortunately there have been several issues that have delayed the clutching and final testing on the completed kit. Broken shafts, custom helix delays, etc. The kits really only 95% done at this point and I am a bit frustrated to be looking at a lot of testing and tweaking work to do myself. Once done I have no doubt it will be awesome, I just didn't figure I would be stuck in late dec.
