I have a '12 600 Pro coming and currently am not a fan of the Pro Taper bars. i am 5'9" and 200# and the extra width of the Pro Taper bars makes it more difficult to have full control to muscle the sled. i love my current bars on my '10 800 RMK. what are my options for my Pro???

thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I love the pro tapers compared to the regular bars on my wifes 09 700RMK.Just cut an 1" off the protapers width if you don't like them otherwise I think you have to switch the riser to a pivot style from the flat post of the pro

I've seen a guy put Pro Taper "mini" bars from a dirt bike on his wife's Pro. I think they are originally intended to be installed on smaller dirt bikes so that adults can ride them. The height was very similar but the width was narrower. He liked it better after riding her sled and made the switch himself.

Although I'd opt for the steel version over the aluminum. I felt the aluminum bars didn't hold heat from the hand warmers when it gets real cold.

good luck....

It will be worth your time to at least try the stock bars. im 5'8 and 170 but love the way mine handles with the stock bars its a TOTALLY different sled that the 2010s i promise.

I think the stockers work well but we are all different. Call RSI and tell them you want the bars Burandt uses. He changes out the Pro Tapers for a low rise RSI bar. He is really big on using a lower rise bar to give more control of the sled.

Not sure if they are the same ones you are talking about but i have the 5" rise RSI bars (2" lower than stock). and absolutely love them. I'm 5'-10" 210, trimmed about 1/4" off each end fell in love with the sled. The lower bars put you in more of a position to ride with your body weight instead of taxing your arms.

I think you hit the nail on there head. We are all different. And one may not like your set-up because they are used to something totally different.

I have had about every height imaginable over the years as my sleds and riding style has progressed. I guess I tend to like them taller now because that is what I am comfortable with. I may try the tapers the height they are at first.

10 degree bend of anything you want ... thick wall.. the stock rmk bars are what i like.. pro tapers feel goofy and when you turn they hit me in the chest... stock rmk bars are to thin and bend to easy. i went with a set of tag 10 degree bend low rise and cut them down and small as possible.. feel a hundred times better!

Our 5" and 7" Bars are 2014 Aluminum and are 10 degree pullback. So stronger and lighter.

Burandt switches his sleds to our 5" which lowers the stock height about 2".

Our Hi Power grip heaters get hotter than stock and hotter faster.

Burandt uses our 7" grips and also removes the stock hooks and runs our Stub Hooks.

Do you know if the stock Polaris Pro grab bars fit those bars? I'm referring to the ones that come on the sleds with Pro Taper bars (just in case the base RMK is different).

Has anybody tried the backcountry bend bars on the Pro? I like the looks of them but have never ridden them. I like the pro tapers but my wife couldn't get used to them so I am looking for something different for her sled when we get it.
