what gets better gas mileage the 800 power tech or the 800r

Looking to try and find out which one these engines offfers the best MPG all other things comparable

If you have first hand experience or self documented testing please post

800R PowerTek motor has better gas milage.

The 800R gets appx 12 to 15% better fuel mileage onder all conditions. Both flat land and in the mountains, deep snow or set up snow.

I burn a lot less (08, 09 xp) than my friends on older sleds. No way to measure exactly though. Maybe I am nicer to my throttle. Basically they sip until I start climbing stuff.

When i referred to power tech I meant the pre three part rave valve and the pre liquid cooled block

I know the original power tech was a miser on gas but if yopu are saying the 800 r get 10 to 15 % better mileage that is really impressive.

My friend can get 180 ,190 km on his original power tech in a renegade 136 x 16 x1.25 rip saw so the 800 r should get at least 220KM

Just trying to figgure out if i am going to go 800 PT or 800 r

I have an 06 Adeniline 151 and an 09 Everest 154. I ride the new one my 13 year old rides the 06. The one time that I did check was after a small ride. He did take about 15-20% more fuel than me. He is about 95lbs no gear and I am about 200lbs no gear so I would have to say the R engine it better on fuel.
They are both called Powertec engines. In 07 they started the MONO block and I am not sure what else they changed but they claim to have 15 more HP than the 06.
