What else can I do to lighten up RX Mtn

I have a 2004 RX1 mtn. I have installed the a-arm kit and the rear suspension kit for Holz. Also I changed the drivers to lightweights. The battery has been changed along with the skis. I was wondering what else I can do to make it even lighter. Thanks

How much money do you want to spend? There is lightweight spindles, bolt kits for the a-arms, fiberglass hood, seat, tunnel, etc, the list goes forever, you have a good start thou.

exhaust is another major saving. The stock exhaust weighs 20+lbs. i bought a used yoshimura exhaust off an R1 bike and had a dealer fab it up and it dumps under my tunnel. the complete Yoshimura exhaust weighs 7lbs.

Save your money - I've put on every light weight part known and the ride ready weight is 674 (that's with Stage I S/C). If your big enough to throw it around now, just add boost and the weight really won't matter ... you'll be having too much fun to worry about the few times you may get stuck.

for the money it will cost your better off boosting it, I too put every light wieght part I could on mine and got rid of anything wasn,t needed, 615 lbs, ready to ride with front mount turbo. it was 535lbs dry. I am doing a nytro now and the only thing I will do is turbo, timbersled rear suspension and light battery, and any thing thats not needed will come off but all the other thngs that would cost another $2000 to $3000 isn,t worth it. if you want you can get it to about 500lbs dry with out turbo.

674 seems a little heavy for lightweight everything. Pre front mount turbo mine was 609 ready to ride weighed on a digital 4 pad race car scale. I never weighed it after I installed the turbo but I'd guess its in the 625 range now.

Here's what can go:

Hood and light pod for lightweight one
Seat is a pig lose it
Rear skid swap for Holz or M7 -30 lbs
Front end Timbersled will drop almost 20 lbs with floats
Aluminum bumper brackets takes off a few lbs
Aluminum steering
Cro Mo steering post
Tunnel
Handlebars can drop a few
Drill out the deltabox -1
Battery Ytz7S -10 lbs if you dump the bracket too
Exhaust
Probably some stuff I've forgotten

The weight loss comes from lots of little things usually. Rule of thumb is that if it is made from Yamaha steel either lose it or replace it with aluminum

Easy and cheap I removed the Hood hinge and associated steel parts installed 2 aluminum plates to hold it all together and use 2 old style Phazer hood straps instead of the hinge. A easy cheap 5 to 6 pounds loss in the nose.
Than loose the light and put on the Mountain mod cover for a bunch more weight loss.
I carry a lead dog light for the trail home.
I also like the bark buster front end for maximum weight loss and it works well for me.
