What do you guys think of my home made clutch vent? I will make one for the other side this week. The template is made, so shouldn't be too hard now.

Ohhh ok, cool. Have you had the sled out in the powder yet to see how they work? Looks very nice. I might just have a look at my sled to see if i could whip up something like that. Probably minus the Almuminum though. P.S. questions directed at TravRMK

and to just think people spend hundreds of dollars on items like that..

If you figure a shop rate of $60 an hour, to cut those out, I would say you would pay a good 80 to $90 for the layout, and material. Plus, I think some companies use a fabric.

Home depot. It is really strong! I tried to stab a scrap piece with a srewdriver, and nothing hapened. It looks like it is a rubbery plastic covered fiberglass screen.

You did a great job, the vent looks great.

I gotta say though, it looks a lot like my 2cool vents......sorry someone had to point it out sooner or later. I guess it if you have the tooling to build them you can go that route. But if you figure it out by the hour, its way cheaper just to buy the 2cool vents. And I don't know about you, but my customer service is no where near what their's is ;)

By the way, the Home Depot pet screen stuff doesn't work so well. There is better material out there. Not a big deal, you have the frame so you can always try different material.

Good luck,
Chris

I could draw up those, make machine code, and cut a dozen sets of those frames out in less than an hour...EASILY. Wrapping them would take more time, say 10 minutes a piece, so average 25 minutes for a set. Second run would be even faster.

It all depends if you make 1 or 100.:face-icon-small-coo
