what colour len do you run

what colour lens do you run ..most of the time? i have blue that i like if its sunny .but find if it get a little dark i cant see. i hate swaping lens on a ride. just wanna know what the most run colour?

i have an ornage, brozesish color i like for bot sunny and cloudy days, not to much riding after night so coudlnt really tell you about that

I run the Scott X89i LS goggles.

They come with the Light Sensitive lenses.

I honestly didn't know they were light sensative till I rode during the day with them.

They look greenish yellow during low light, and as it gets brighter out they turn to a dark blue. Scott calls it AMP blue.

Best Lens I have ever used.

My girlfriend like them so much she ordered a white pair of the same goggle with the LS lenses.

tints

blue tints are for sun
yellow tints are for cloudy days
clear are for night riding.

ive got some spys with a bronze tint and always have a clear pair in the bag for when it gets dark.

I wear Scott X89i Turbo w/guick straps and they have Rose Amp lenses. They work pretty good all around for me. Might have to look into the light sensitve ones. They sound pretty cool.

blue and clear, with an orange pair in reserve. Usually ride with two pairs (one on my head and one in my pack).

I have these also but have trouble with them in the trees as for me they don't change fast enough when you are hauling inside the groves. Maybe because I'm getting to be an old guy and need more light. :(

However this Scott frame and the way the lens and goggle vent is outstanding. Most goggles vent alot through the top above the lens. Unfortunately that area often gets blocked by the lining of the helmet.

Scott has a new lens 2 seasons ago that is a new Rose (dusty rose??) and it is the best lens I have used in 30 years of snow skiing and 15 years of snowmobiling. I haven't had to use any other lens no matter what kind of light. My wife got a set last year. That lens with the newer 89 frame rocks.

Oh yeah, it comes with a really workable nose guard of soft molded rubber. You can put the guard outside of helmet or inside behind the face guard and it stays on the goggles. I like it outside it's easy to breathe with it there and I can wear my balaclava below my nose and it stays there.

IMHO

i never noticed b4. but cutting trail the other day in some grey fog. i found i couldnt see anything with the blue, i just ran without. sucks in pow but its hard to pick a good line if you cant see. i think i may try yellow or clear, as i get older the yellow seems to help in low light

I'm another big fan of the Scott 89Xi with the new leather and metal quick straps. Been testing that strap system since last years prototypes. AWESOME! No complaints and far better then the plastic/spandex system of days gone by.

Now lense wise I mostly use rose as it's the most versitile all around. Gives you brightness control in high unfiltered light but can also deal with shadows and terrain changes that aren't visable with other lenses. My blues are the least favorite and least flexible. Good on sunny days in open riding and that is it. Just started by accident using the monochromatic (light sensitive system)...had them deep in the pack as forth stringers behind rose then clear then blue..not bad! Rep gave them to me and I forgot they were there. More time needed in variable light but I like them better then blue and clear. Rode them all day Saturday in bright bright light mixed with some tree work for shadows and they work great. I felt like they kept up with the changing conditions pretty well. Gonna say now rose, mono clear, clear, bronze and last is blue. Once the light is consistant and dim it's hard to replace simple clear for giving you consistant depth perception and clear vision.

Anyway love the Scott 89Xi as an overall riding goggle. Havn't tried them all but they smoked my spys and smith's that I used to wear extensively.

I have a pair of Scotts' with the Amp Rose lense, and a pair of Smiths' with the Sensor lense. The Amp Rose is a much better all purpose lense in my opinion.:beer;

i have a pair of spy goggles with blue lenses......work great almost always.....fog kinda puts kank on clarity........is that a true statement about blue lenses causing retinal damage???

lenses

last weekend had my light sensitive blue 89xi's great in the bright sun but when the weather changed to overcast and it started snowing and blowing I had to change back to my clear scotts. They would not lighten up enough for decent vision, very hard to see the terrain. Going to try the Amber ones next time.
