What blend of race fuel for mcx?

Ethanol is a good fuel, if you calibrate fuel delivery accordingly.
Ethanol in the car racing world have opened up alot of horsepower in classes that is restricted not to use high octane.
For us here in Sweden we are used to Ethanol in fuel. there is approx 10% Ethanol in our Premium, perhaps that is the diffrence between our 93 and your's 91?

Yes I agree ethanol is a good fuel. It is just harder on your engine if it is not designed to burn ethanol. Hence the E-85 engines here in North America, designed to burn 85% ethanol mixed fuel. They are designed for the fuel because it burns much hotter. I many times have asked myself how hard a little ethanol is on the engine, and I am sure most people will never have a problem.

What about 94 pump?? better the 91?? In BC almost all petrocan offer 94 and 91. Just wondering/thinking...And i never run the 91 in any of are sleds allways the 94... if they had 98 pump i would run that!! Just drums are a pain in the aszz

Every year this needs to be clarified, There are 3 ways to measure octane:

1. Research (R)
2. Motor (M)
3. Research/ Motor combined divided by 2 (RM2)

When you guys are talking Octane make sure it is apples to apples.
Most all reputable service stations sell gasoline that is measured RM2. Often ethanol is used to increase this number (I don't recommend ethanol be used in any 2 stroke engines) & often there will be a guy out there that is promoting a 94 Octane fuel that is using Research #'s.
A direct comparison of av gas to Motor Octane puts it at Research 109, Motor 104, & RM/2 106.5...Remember that these numbers are a minimum & Av Gas will kick out a considerably higher number than what I have listed.

I ran my front mount Alpine @ 18lbs. with no problems with Av gas. I have been using it in 2 strokes for the last 15 years & (knock on wood) have yet to have a detonation issue...

Darko ran his MC @ 18 lbs. last year with no issues either...

Just my 02 on this again.

^^^^This is a good point, make sure we are all talking the same octane numbers.

Also be careful because av gas is only good for 15.5 years so you are now officially pushing it;)

I deliberately have written the motor octane because thats what i heard you do, our fuel is 98 RON and 93 MON.

Which makes this a RM/2 95.5 Octane...Compared to Av Gas it is quite low.
RON 109 & MON 104...RM/3 106.5

Once again I remind you that these are "Minimum" numbers. Av Gas tends to be considerably higher than the "Min Specs".

Sure is, but i only answered what we here in sweden use to the 270hp kit!
And you are "spot on", we can never use to good fuel on our turbo's.

I get what you are saying, sorry I thought you were asking a question.:) I should have read your previous post again.:beer;
Too busy typing I guess...

Here i found out i'm wrong, i hate to be wrong so i must correct myself.
Our premium fuel is 98 RON, 88 MON = 93 PON (AKI) (RON+MON/2).
Wich means that it's the same as your's preimum 93 PON (AKI) (puh, one thing right anyway). :-).

Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating
"This higher rating seen in Europe is an artifact of a different underlying measuring procedure. In most countries (including all of Europe and Australia) the "headline" octane that would be shown on the pump is the RON, but in the United States, Canada and some other countries the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, sometimes called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI), Road Octane Number (RdON), Pump Octane Number (PON), or (R+M)/2. Because of the 8 to 10 point difference noted above, this means that the octane in the United States will be about 4 to 5 points lower than the same fuel elsewhere: 87 octane fuel, the "regular" gasoline in the US and Canada, would be 91-92 in Europe. However most European pumps deliver 95 (RON) as "regular", equivalent to 90–91 US (R+M)/2, and deliver 98 (RON), 99 or 100 (RON) labeled as Super Unleaded."

I bought Darko's sled and put another 2,000k on it at 18 lbs with only av gas.
thats 4,000k total.

how are you guys getting 18 pds boost outta the mcx with the nytro. I wanted my mcx box reflashed for 18, and prince george claims only 15 pds possible. I want more boost.lol not that it would help riding with ol sheriff, i can't keep up with that old bugger anyways.;)

Do you have the fuelregulator and fuelpump?
If you go higher without fuel upgrade it will go lean, and it will ruin your engine.
After that you got the above you can get the right fuel and boost maps for the MCX ECU and rise boost according to fuel octane.
