What are your opinions on Yamaha 4-strokes?

I want to know the opinions of on the new Yami 4-strokes from those who have ridden them or own them. Are 4-strokes the real thing or just bungling lead sleds.

I have an 07 Apex with Mcxpress.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:
You should ride one and make your own decision.:beer;

I was truly impressed with my new Nytro. It has lots of power and is a blast to ride even in stock form.
I know everyone has their own opinion but I rode and 800R last year and the Nytro pulled just as hard as that machine(stock). Everyone is going to say that is not possible but it is the torque that a machine produces that stretches your arms back and the new fours have plenty of that.
The ride of the new Nytro is so similar to the REV that I had very little adjusting to get used to the machine, and it is much more comfortable than the REV in terms of sitting position. Lots of leg room for you to stretch out if needed.
And the weight which everyone thinks is an issue, is not! The machine is balanced so well it is effortless to ride and throw around. I go places with this machine that I never would have with my REV. Riding through the trees is lots of fun!
Then add a turbo.....and look out the machine is truly weightless, I have yet to get it stuck in over 7 days of riding in the mountains and I am the one who always breaks trail. So who cares if it does weigh a little more.
I was always the sceptical 2 stroke guy who always questioned what a turboed 4 could really do and now that I know I am truly amazed! I will never own a 2 stroke again!

AMEN brotha!!!! You took the words right out of my mouth. I am coming off the RT for 3 yrs & this thing handles so much better & feels so much lighter........... it is sooo much fun in the trees that i can hang right with the 8's & don't have to drag my azz home at night !!!!

I rode an Rt 1000 in '05-'06, and an XRS 800 last year. Bought the Nytro to replace the RT, liked it so much, sold the XRS last Tues. and brought home a new phaser for the wife this weekend. Don't see myself on a 2 stroke anytime soon:)

i own the xp 154 and the nytro there both a blast to ride, the fit and finish are both great neither is better, the nytro carves easier, the power off the line is comprible, if its a bluebird day the nytro will stay in the trailer, lately ive been thinkin about a supercharger something i said i would never do, and i have had absolutly no negative issues with either sled. you should post your ? near the end of the season when alot of us that bought both, and the guys that bought there first 4 stroke will have a lot more time on them. what i know so far is the nytro is not a bungling lead sled

2006 Apex is the best sled I have ever owned. Will never own a 2 stroke again after breaking a crank on my 800 Poo. Bought the apex, knowing Yami's were reliable, and was pleasantly surprised how it handled in the trees and deep powder. My sled is bone stock, and has had zero issues at 2600 miles. I've contemplated installing a turbo, but so far, no need. If I ever get the urge for a new sled, it will get a turbo. These sleds turboed are amazing. Seen how they ran at the Pemberton ice cap. Absolutely nothing compares when turboed.

I don't think they are that great...I think more people should stick to 2 strokes...Heavy underpowered tiny little gas tanks(am I allowed to use that word)

Just don't ever ride one and you will be ok:D

I absoloutly love my Nytro, it handles good for a mtn sled, the rear suspension could be better but a good shock and or heavier springs will fix that. but boondocking and playing in 3-4 feet is no problem, as for the small fuel tank you will go just as far as any 800 2 smoker on 10 liter less.

I think four strokes are the right direction to go in, I love my Nytro will never own a two stroke again. Even if I never would have put a turbo on my Nytro, I still would have bought it to ride it stock.

Just picked up an apex and all I can say is im truely impressed, its a bone stock (for now) 162, im 155lbs and can toss that thing all over the place in the deep and steep! The goemetry of the sled is spot on doesnt feel any heavier than the other sleds ive ridden!

I own a turbo 07 apex {awesome} but for sale, a 07 800 poo. {siezed up last wed} and a 08 nytro. last wed I rode with 3 800 poos in the woodland area of utah and stayed with them all day. the handling ease of the nyto made me a lot better rider and I can ride longer without getting so tired. its a bit of trencher when you go steep and deep, but that just adds to the challenge. the nytro motor never gives up. put a longer, wider track with 50 less lbs and you will have the perfect sled. also I noticed all the poo riders had ice hanging off their faces from the powder. I did not, the design of the nytro kept the powder out of my face.

The only time its heavey is when your stuck up to your arse. I love my Attak, slight mod,144-2" track, bar riser and mountain a arms. The rear suspension eats the moguls the mountain sled can't and it will out run almost anything except short tracks. Will admit that it doesn't climb as high but I'll get over that. You want to ride something heavey get yourself a V-max 4!! Then everything seems like an XP.
