What Arctic Cat Belt fits the Pro Rmk

I am sure its been talked about but I guess I missed it. Anyone using Arctic Cat belts on there pros. If so what number of belt works best. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks The Spudman:face-icon-small-blu

Yes, 0627-048 is the belt. I have 10 or 12 guys locally and a lot of guys further away running them with awesome results and 1/2 the price.

CAT 048

They work great, I think they actually are a little snappier, I have found they wear faster but not much faster than stock. Have yet to break one, and I too know of a dozen or so being used on pros, I bought 4 last year, but still rotating out between first two with no problems

Interesting, I actually had the opposite effects running the 048 belt last year. Yes it worked, but after about 400 miles I swapped to my tried and true Ulitimax XS809 and man it felt like I gained 20hp! My sled seemed to be able to have better throttle snap and put the power better to track. It felt like it was slipping less... Anyways just my experience and while it is 40 bucks cheaper than an XS, I much prefer the XS 809 with its performance and 1 year warranty that they stand behind.

I guess I should preface the fact that I swap belts a lot, twice a ride if riding partners allow it, ride a belt in the trail 15-20 miles and switch to another belt for the day then switch back to first belt for ride out, I also remove them at home, wash them down with simple green and let em hang dry in the shop for next ride, I also clean clutches almost as much. This could be my success with them, I would be interested to try the XS809 though, havn't heard of that one, I'll have to check into that, thanks. I do know guys not swapping em and havn't heard any complaints. Lots of ways to skin a cat I guess, no punn intended, haha.

I am also very meticulous about keeping my belts scrubbed and clutches spotless after every ride. Also checking deflection and sheave clearance frequently. But I don't swap my belts around until they have reached the end of their life and I will admit I don't do the "proper" break in either. To me, my riding time is worth more to waste it babying a 90 dollar belt. But ya, you should definitely try the Ultimax XS809 belt, they are slightly wider than the stock 115 belt, but most polaris primary clutches have too much sheave clearance anyways so it helps with that. They do require a slight deflection adjustment from the 115...
I usually purchase the XS on ebay and try to shoot for one under 90 bucks shipped...

I currently run an XS809 on my 2010. Overall I am happy with them, but I did grenade one very badly. I had been playing on a small hill then turned to make a good run up it and was about 200' up the pull when it let go. My engine over-revved and made an awful sound like the chain blew up and took out the gearbox. As it turned out, the belt had broken and exploded. Once I got all the shrapnel cleaned up the motor took a long time to start. I checked the tattle-tale after we got it running and it had revved to about 9500 rpms when the belt blew. Makes me a bit nervous now and the belt didn't look like it had anything wrong with it when I left that morning. I also broke one on my 2005 700, another big bang and bent belt deflectors.

If the 048 belt is so damn awesome, why cant the Proclimb guys get more the 50 miles out of a belt? Maybe they should try a 115 belt.

Ive had similar experiences with them exploding on 2 sleds now. Im scared to run them anymore as id rather spend the money on belts than the parts they take out when they explode.

Something to ponder

Many people ARE using them with good results... and Racinstation knows their stuff...

AND...

In the end... The cat belt is different, slightly different dimensions, different compound than the 3211115 belt.

Choose wisely.

For me, a 115 belt lasts a full season... and then some... on everything from a 975 IQ, to a boosted Pro (friends) and everything in between.
Worth the money to me.

Hands down the 115 is the most "nuke proof" belt I've seen offered. I've had conversations with the Gates, Goodyear, and Dayco engineers... and in their own words said they did not have a belt that was as robust as the Polaris-Mitsuboshi 115 belt.

Sure, the belt is expensive, but if you wash/scrub it and keep your clutches clean... you will see the same results as me unless your motor mounts are broken or your clutching is messed up or poorly calibrated.

Just my 2 cents.

The asphalt guys run the 115 POO belt on their PS1000, it's the only one that will stand up to what that sleds puts to it. Take that for what it is worth.

Sounds like an awesome belt for sure but the price is rough. I plan on getting a cat belt only as a spare. Good enough for me and I'll score a new 115 belt whenever I need one.

cheap

I have found cat belts as cheap as $60, call Michelle at Oregon Trail Sport (541) 523-3500, she is great and will hook you up with a good price, I don't know what her current price is as I still have belts from last year so I havn't checked.

The 048 works stock and turbo for me enough said. The 115 stock belt works also but over twice the price. The ultimax belts that I have run on an Xp and Pro, they work real good right up to that BIG BANG that makes ya wonder what went the engine or the drive system, just like the carbon fiber good yr Gator belt. This can tear things up like the crank, 8,200 rpm to snap 8,500 rpm under no load, not a good thing. I'll pull a cord any day compared to snap and explosion. But when there runing they work.

The 048 belt don't fit the Proclimb. 048 belt are for M-series.

Proclimb use a 084 belt.
And I'm still on my first belt, with over 1000km on it. Satisfied.

Would someone please post the width and depth measurements of a new 048, width at top of cog outside, width at the top of inside cog, depth from top of the cog to top of inside cog, so I can calculate the side cut angle?
