what about this setup???????

i have a 07 800r ,stock except for hps can. a buddy totalled his 07, he has slp head, bikeman pipe, v force reeds. im thinking about getting them for my sled. i dont want to have to screw with it every ride . is this a good ,dependable "mod" ? whats your .02??? i ride 3000 to 8000 ft
thanks:confused:

Don't get the BMP pipe...trust me. Head is fine, SLP y-pipe is fine, most silencers are fine, reeds won't make any difference.

i was told this is a "kit" do you think i can run the head w/o the reeds or should i keep it the kit together? he says it ran great, my 800r has run better than i ever thought it could. except for the clutching but that is fixed now. i can out pull any stock m1k i have ever ridden with. my buddy put the slp pipe, y pipe on his m1k and is out pullin me so now i have to do sumthin, any other ideas????

I was also looking at throwing this SLP kit in, the kit comes with some venting, an SLP silencer, SLP y-pipe, and SLP head, on SLP's website they do not have the vforce reeds in the kit, so I doubt they are required. From my research, you did get gains, although not near the 17 HP they advertise, but you have to jet up to 410's if I remember right, so your going to be using more fuel, and I don't know about yours, but my fuel consumtion in my 07 is horrible, so I don't know if I want to make it worse.

I think clutching is the way to go like Winter brew says, I am going to put in Dynamo Joe's clutch kit in this fall, and see how that goes, the clutching is much better in mine as well from when I picked it up, but there is still alot of room for improvment, and its still dropping RPM's in really deep stuff.

Venting and clutching, once those are perfected, I might try out the SLP kit

BTW if you do go with another silencer, I would be interested in the HPS if your selling it.

my clutching was done by pinehurst performance (my dealer) im not a guy who likes to tinker so i let them do it. i know they went with a HEAVY spring ,took out pin weight. i have been running 490 jets since the third ride, yes 490s . that made a big diff in the deep stuff. i will call pinehurst and get more clutching details if needed or you can and ask for jason or ed they have treated me great

what kind of distance can you get running powder with your sled? I am running on fumes at 80kms when pushing deep snow on stock jetting, maybe mine is just a pig on fuel, if you happen to put the slp kit in, I would love to hear how you like it next season.
