What a mess!

I went riding on Sat. at Glod creek and was amazed at the mess all the way up the road, and at all of the hang out spots. I am no "greenie" but was very surprised at how much crap (beer cans, food wrappers, water bottles, broken sled parts, ect.) was left behind by US! I remember helping out on a clean up a year or so ago, and if one gets organized I would like to volunteer. It might be easier to do with the snow still there? Or maybe a coulple of ATV's can tow trailers to haul the garbage. Any thoughts, local riders?

As the snow melts more and more junk will get exposed. Pick it all up now and in another month there will be more. I don't get why people litter, it just reinforces the image that the greenies have of our sport.

I was shocked by all the garbage we picked up at baker yesterday - for cryin' out lout, peeps - aluminum IS NOT biodegradeable........... and this was on the snow - the road to the parking was just as bad!

there's a clean-up at baker June 7 at 9am, for anyone interested......... I'm thinking there's enough snow to ride after we clean, too :)

litter = closed alot of crap by the parking areas are from goofs that come up to play in the snow. dumbasses .but there is junk all over the hills. a few yrs ago i filled 4 large garbage bags from the weather station to the parking lot at stampede with mostly beer cans. and its not just on the main roads it on the trails like the pac crest that they(greenies) say we shouldnt be on. our i-90 snoparks are easy access for the hikers and bikers. they are the ones that go home and sit in front of the keybords and send letters to oly. so if we are going to have places to ride clean it up!

I have a Polaris Ranger Side x Side, and would love to help if something gets organized? :beer;

The stuff I am talking about is from snomobilers! It is along the north side of the road at gold creek. Where the snomobilers park! We need to look good and this is not how we do it. Maybe we should pick a date that people who use the Gold Creek/Stampede area can help out. The Ranger would be the ticket! Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?

How about a Gold Creek / Stampede cleanup day next weekend? If we get enough people, it shouldn't take very long. Some garbage cans, plastic garbage bags and some plastic gloves should be all that is needed.

Polaris Ranger

I won't be available next Saturday, only Sunday:rolleyes: Which, by the way works fine for me.. Looks like W8TN4U is riding shotgun:D

Beer?

I was gonna suggest that we have a cooler on board that ranger, and have beer and pop for all who participate. But, from the post above maybe that is not such an idea? Lets give this a couple days and see how many are in? and when?

Les Schwab would be happy to supply large tire bags for clean-up....

Just say the word and consider it done!

Shouldn't take too long to clean up the GC snowpark and the road from the x-country ski parking back to the snow park.

Clean up on the trail will be hit and miss...we usually stop and pick up on the way out...still a lot of snow up there, so not everything will be visible until the snow is gone.

Baker has the same problem only bigger...the entire dirt road up to the snow park has litter. That one will take a little longer.

Did someone say ride?

How organized should we get this? Kill the entire day? Aren't you going to ride afterwards?
Hmmmm? This cleanup thing is sounding better all the time!;)

Now lets see, tow Ranger and carry sled:rolleyes: Well, we can sort out the details later.:face-icon-small-hap
