What’s going to happen

Well, normally way too premature- but since Ski Doo pretty much remains unchanged for 22. What’s the prediction for 23? Narrow up the outside dimension? We’re 34’s a prep for that? Forward steering post? Lynx skid? More power?

What day ye.

I suspect pretty much what you said. My guess is that the Summit will be 34” standard with a 32” option for the Expert maybe. Maybe we’ll see a higher COG too, it would make the sled drop on it’s side quicker and easier to keep it there. Maybe we’ll see the Lynx suspension under one of the Summits or maybe it’ll be a Freeride. I bet we see narrower body work and slightly narrower running boards. I’d also bet we’ll get a gap year without the 175“ and maybe without the Expert trim just so there’s something to pull people in to buy new sleds 2 years in a row.

The bodywork will be skinnier to match the narrower front end. For sure. Not super excited about this year's Expert with narrow front and fat body. They will never put that heavy Lynx skid under a Summit. Maybe a Freeride, that would be cool. The Freeride and Summit have been getting way too close as far as similarity lately. Only reason I got a 146 Freeride last couple years is because the only way to get a 146 850 in an X/FR chassis.

Doesn't seem like alot of different in the Summit X or expert, especially since the X has the lightweight hood and short tunnel and now.
So Expert has same shocks just 20% stiffer, smaller seat (maybe same), 2in shorter riser and hand guards, 34in front.
I ordered Summit X cause already had same Handguards, Cfr bars, Adjustable riser from my Xm Summit X and most just changed the shocks or springs anyways, I'll add adjustable limiter myself, and get accessory snowflap.and Dashbag and ride it. Gonna leave all suspension stock set to my adjusted rider & weight that's it so I can get an out of the box setup feel before I add Mod Parts. This be my 1st New Sled. Can't forget my first Wrap [emoji106]

Pure speculation - monorail concept in an Expert/X. Lighter, simplier, fewer parts. Will have their own spin on it, maybe with a belt drive. Skid is half way there now. Will separate the Summit from the FR and Lynx. New track, of course. Not an AC devotee, respected their innovation once-upon-a-time, wasn't that long ago they had the only a-arm sled, were dissed for it, but then - poof - trailing arms disappeared. Body has to get skinnier.

Speculation here too but I would like to see a similar transition from the xp to xm chassis. So narrow body panels and different skid would be obvious. I would also like to see a 900 etec turbo.

I'd like to see a big Weight Loss - get it down to an Axys/Matrix or revolutionary lighter not sacrificing reliability, I know that's a Big think to improve for sure.
Narrower panels and Running boards, a Guage that has GPS and Bluetooth on Summits, more Color options, a good sized Glovebox built into the lightweight X, Freeride hood.

My thought with the addition of the Lynx line is that it is a good replacement for the Freeride, beefy suspension, soaks up the hits better than the summit skid. In Europe the Boondocker RE is available with better shocks already and would slot in nicely. Lack of a turbo may be a hold up for some folks, but as a truly beefy sled for those guys who like jumping it seems like a winner.

The question is that does a market exist for the Lynx and the summit to both be offered longer term, or is skidoo just cannibalizing its own riders with the lynx addition. Will both be available in Turbo and NA in the future or is this a temporary solution to fill a market hole while the new summit chassis is created?

I wouldn't mind the two sleds being merged, or options created for a more a la carte snow check. One primary chassis/plastics but Pick your skid, skis, shocks, NA 850 or Turbo etc. More along the lines of what Polaris does

If i was a betting man, i bet for 2023, although changes are due, COVID may prevent anything from being launched. Maybe a little more HP out of the turbo sleds if the Polaris proves itself a worthy rival. Global supply issues are real.

E85 higher boost map for the turbo, lighter with new skid,
Narrower plastics

Won't see a turbo on the Lynx - primary market in Europe is low elevation and has no need for it. At the end of the year, Canadian vs. US sales velocity will be valuable, especially with brand switching cross tab data. How many poo and AC riders in CA jumped to the Lynx, vs. US? How many came off a FR? That's the data they are looking for. What market perception has been built with the Lynx so far? BRP is big on market analytics, they will gobble it up, and adjust where and what they sell. With cat's well rumored new chassis and a G5 on the horizon, lighter and skinnier is inevitable for the western markets.

Poo probably won't do much for 2023.
As for Cat, who knows. Maybe they wake up for 2023.

As for Doo, probably a bit narrower on the body panels and boards to match the 34 front end and not much else other than another reduction in the spring order warranty.
