West River South Dakota avy class! Who's in?

Mafesto posted info on an avy class in Sioux Falls and I wondered how much interest there would be for a Rapid City avy class.
If we could get enough interest here maybe we could get something set up?

I would come to class in hills. I will be on my way back to MN from bighorns on thursday and will miss class in sioux falls unless i leave ten sleep real early.

I am in Lead and would guess that I could easily get 3-4 people to show up. We go to the Big Horns at least 4 times a year.

i took the class in sioux falls & highly recommend everyone take it. i learned way more than i ever imagined & it really woke me up to things i never thought of before.

Ok... heres the deal.. I talked with mike.. and was planning to do a avy class in lead at the goldin hills resort.. However I had a very very hard time trying to get a night that would work for him and me and others.. And have been crazy busy with work lately.. So If somebody would like to take the driver seat on this deal that would work.. As for up at golden hills If thats the location you deside on.. I can get it very cheap..

I still think we need to need to have one here in western sodak.. but just dont have the time for the foot work.. sorry

thats the problem though.. Is he wont do it on a fri,sat, or sun. night.. so it really doesnt work for most for making it..

If it was on a friday night.. we could pack it out with people and then people could tear it up in deadwood afterwards....

Just curious what sort of logistical needs are necessary: What's the length of the course, what items do people need to bring, etc.

Any date is fine with me.I will come to class and then go to Ten Sleep after it. Great excuse to go sleding!

I would have about six interested. Do a Friday afternoon/ evening course with an on-the-mountain beacon/probe training in the morning and then a Deep Powder Challenge in the Hills. HAHAHA Just need the deep powder. (It might happen this year)

Class update:

Sorry, my schedule does not allow a Friday class in the Rapid City area in January. I have classes the next morning(Saturday) in MN and Colorado throughout the month.

The dates I have available for a class in the Rapid City area are Monday the 12th, Thursday the 15th, or Monday the 19th. Please let me know if any of these dates work for any of you and we'll schedule a class. I have found that that midweek nights work best, since everyone is usually busy on the weekends during riding season.

Are there enough local riders interested in a class? Thanks for the input, Mike
