Drove up to Wells Summit north of Fairfield to go play in the fresh fluff. We got turned around by the County Sheriff, claiming "extreme" avalanche danger and he was closing all the back country to snowmobiles and skiers. Quite disappointing after driving almost 80 miles to get there only to be turned around in the last 1/2 mile. Looks like they are going to keep it closed until this storm system blows through and everything slides/settles. The guys looked up the warning and it looks like it extends to almost all the Sawtooth mountains region, Salt Creek, Wells Summit, Chimney Creek, Pine, Feather Ville, Atlanta, and Trinities.
So don't head up there on Sunday or they will just turn you around.
