welding SLP can?

i just noticed today that my can has a break in the weld about 2 inches long. How difficult would it be to weld the can?

If you're handy with a mig, it's an easy job. Just be sure to buff off all traces of the ceramic coating in the area to be repaired. My best advice though, is to get rid of the SLP can. I repaired numerous cracks in mine, then it developed cracks in other spots a short time later. If you choose to keep the SLP, be prepared to chase cracks.

i weld up mine with a little mig no probs!!

Yep, just clean the ceramic coating off the area and weld her up.

what can did you switch to?

I'm running "The Thing" can behind my SLP pipe. Works very well. There are other well built options out there as well.

just weld in some reinforcements when you repair it.

I thought the slp can was ceramic coated myself...but the welder told me it was a nickle plating and he used stainless rod.
