Weird Rattle PLZ HELP

That sounds alot like a connecting rod issue....the lower connecting rod bearings go commonly on those sleds...seen it more than once. You can still have good power too...till the rod breaks completely that is. Check the rod...cheap in insurance. If you catch the rod before everything goes you can save the cylinders and cases and more.

Thanks jim, good to hear. about being able to save things

I want to thank everyone for their input on this thread!!!!!:beer;:beer;:beer;

I'm glad you posted this - my 97 RMK 700 has a similar rattle and did the same as you - stethoscope, the whole 9 yards. A good friend with lots of sled experience is quite certain it is buttons in the drive clutch. Haven't gotten around to checking them yet as it isn't my regular ride anymore.
Worth checking that before going for a total rebuild.....

Its hard to tell for sure with the video but sounds like wristpin bearing or connecting rod bearing. Try grabbing the primary and move back and forth slowly and see if it has a cluncking sound.

I have a 2000 rmk 700 same noise last year. rod broke then broke then crank then locked up the motor. 1400 bucks later I have a new motor.
