Weights............

I think trying to compare the wet weight of a nytro to the wet wet of a 2 stroke is a waste of time. 20 lbs difference in weight is probably 100 lbs when the sled is actually moving.

We've weighed a lot of sleds in my old garage and while it was always fun talking **** and calculating weights it really wasn't relevant when you actually hit the snow..

Back in 2005-2008 4 strokes made a lot of sense IMO because all the 2 strokes were not reliable. That isn't the case anymore. There is only one person left in my crew that has a 4 stroke.

If you are going to MOD a 4stroke don't worry about the weight.

Nytro is 585 dry, but when we add fluids the 4 needs case oil which we don't, and it needs more coolant than we use in ours as well, so it gains even more than we gain when wet.

American Snowmobiler 2011 Powder Snowmobile Evaluation (published 3/9/2011 to their website)

Sleds were weighed on the same scale, same location, full of fuel and oil, and with a spare belt.

2011 Nytro MTX = 601 lbs
2011 Cat M8 HCR = 556 lbs
2011 Doo Summit 800 = 550 lbs
2011 Pro RMK = 532 lbs

Exactly, but as you pointed out Nytro does not carry that much fuel.

I understand that. Now fill 7 gallons worth of gas cans and put then on your tunnel. Then weigh it! They get close to the same mileage so either the pro gets to ride 2x as long as you do or he only needs to fill 7 gallons of gas to go ride with you. So now yours weighs 90lbs more. Don't get me wrong. I love nytro's. I used to own one. But you are still carrying alot more weight around then any of the 2 strokes.
