Weights............

Has anybody here actually weighed there sleds to see what real world weight with full tank of gas is? I was curious so I weighed mine.

2008 Nytro with all Timbersled lightweight suspension, Boss seat, lightweight Exhaust...etc. 541 lbs full of gas. What is real world weight of New Pro? Not trying to restart the old heavy Yamaha war just really curious how much lighter it really is.

The other 2008 Nytro I bought in Idaho with the supercharger does not have all the weight mods so I am anxious to weigh it when it gets here.

SO how about it? Any other weights?

Agreed. I don't know the weights wet but a Nytro within 40lbs of a Pro?

This is why I posted this thread. Assumed weights and real world weights are rarely the same. Point in fact was the 2005 Ski Doo rt 1000 I bought a while back. Said online it was 523 dry....NO WAY! Articles from people that actually weighed it said it was almost 600 pounds dry and I believe them. I traded it in on this Nytro.

Now, Yamaha builds sleds like tanks so why is it hard to believe you can cut 100 pounds of a stock Nytro? Starts at 553 so you can get one to mid 500's pretty quick. The Supercharged Nytro I have coming does not have the timbersled skid so I guess it will be about 35 pounds more there....and the stock battery and non ported track I am guessing another 12 pounds and then the supercharger stuff. So I am hoping it is no more than 600 pounds wet but after new years I will weigh it and post it here. Anybody real world weigh a stock Nytro wet?

BUT, the idea here was not a Yamaha bash. PLEASE post your real world weights of any model sleds..

We don't. I have a friend with a commercial scale that is only accurate to +- 10 pounds. Its only good for a rough idea. They use it for weighing heavy loads

I went back outside and weighed my 2008 Dragon. It has about half to 2/3 tank gas and weighed in at 570 pounds with same scales as used on Nytro. Is that about right weight for Dragon?

He brought his scales by our shop. My 2012 pro with a turbo weighed in at 551 full of gas in the tank and the Mountain addiction cans. Its actually heavier than his nytro on the same scales.....I still dont believe it:face-icon-small-con

Here is a chart we made in 2009 when we weighed a whole pile of sleds full of gas, coolant, oil, etc. We then calculated dry weights based on published fuel capacties, etc. When I weighed sleds last winter, my 2009 Dragon 800 155 with all the mods weighed 518 full and our 2011 Pro 800 155 was 523. For comparison, I also weighed a 2011 Summit X 146 E-Tec electric start which was 571. That was a little heavier than I expected given how light the XPs started out in 2008.

Thanks,
Donavon

LOL! even after he lifted the Nytro from the front he still couldn't believe it.

Here is a TRUE wet weight of a Turbo Nytro 162 Full of Fuel (Stock Tank) with a very long etc list

There were a few published mods i didn't do that would have put it under 600 lbs.

I can tell you from experience that if you feel your nytro will feel light because you mod it or boost it you will be disappointed. What ever the difference is (40-50 lbs) felt more like 100lbs when I stepped into an 2010 M8 SP 153.

That makes sense especially if turbo weighs around 50 to 60 pounds. Puts mine right at where it weighs in.

MCX Turbo adds about 15 -20 lbs.

Impulse Turbo is probably a little lighter. We weighed one and it was similiar but had 3 more gallons of fuel. IIRC it was 605-609ish
