weight gains on boost

I've gotten answer all over the board on this one so pipe in and maybe we can come to a conclusion. How much weight does a 2010 m8 (PG no intercooler) gain with a turbo kit installed? I know there are some variables there but in general.

are you eliminating the oil injection? are you talking with a factory cannister and airbox?

if from a factory sled, I would think it about a wash.

no actual data, just what it feels like when I take it apart :)

I am assuming that the kit will eliminate the air box and plenum, and muffler and the kit would have a separate oil tank

if your going from a stock sled, your probably within 5# +-.... the turbos people run are right at about 15# so the same as the stock can, and when you totally gut an M intake system, hood and all, your charge tube and airbox is right around the same, those hood intake systems are HEAVY! and now your down to the fuel reg and some lines... from stock form you could easily drop a few pounds, if you have already done can/intake, stuff like that, you may add a few... so its close enough you will never notice.

My naturally aspirated modded 08 M-1000 162 S/P, weighed 567 pounds full of fuel, oil, extral belt and tool kit.

My 08 Twisted turbo M-1000 162, with basically the same lightweight mods as the above sled, weighs 572.5.

I have a Timbersled front and rear ready to install, which should shave another 15 pounds or so off of that.

The turbo sled also has the diamond lite on it, so that will skew the weight somewhat. The turbo sled is now running almost 50/50 weight balance on the front; whereas the non turbo sled was closer to a 60/40 split.

You should see similar results on your M-8, 5 to no more than a 10 pounds of weight gain on an otherwise stock sled, if you gut the hood. Power gain......WOW!!!!!
