I dont think it should matter if you know your exact weight in numbers... Seems pointless almost becuase all the stuff that i take is a necessity imo and there really is no way for me to drop weight... Yes having a rough number to give for suspension setup could be helpful but knowing the exact number seems a little overkill

i just run easy math.. 150 in street clothes.. maybe 15# for gear with my pack on. when your within 10.. not that important. the amount of snow on the sled is gonna change more then that every few minutes.

You can be ruff all you want, i play with my shocks enough to know the difference between feels good and "thats the spot"

90% of riders never adjust there shocks but then bith how there skid performs or how there sled trenches or how there sled pushes.

All this comes into play and if you want your sled to work to its potential being exact could be the difference in the race i lost last year by a tenth of a second!!!!!

Me 225, snowmobile gear including my boots, helmet, gloves etc about 15lbs, avy vest with avy and survival gear about 15lbs so 255-260. Handle bar back with snacks, goggle, extra gloves etc 6-8 lbs. Tunnel bag with first aid kit, tools, water, extra layer(fleece vest or wool shirt) and more survival gear, extra shovel 15-18lbs. Holy crap that's like 290-300 extra pounds and that's without any spare fuel. The lowest I could be and feel prepared would be like 270. I have been thinking about bringing some of this stuff up in a Pelican case along with a gas can and cable locking it to a tree near where we ride but I could be 5-10 miles away from that and that is a long way to walk in the snow if I got in trouble. Going to have to take a hard look at everything I carry this year. I did get in the habit of dropping my fuel and tunnel bag at the bottom of a bowl or area that we were playing in for a while. Could feel the difference in performance.

185lbs all geared up + a full tank of fuel to start the day + 10lbs for the stuff under the seat, no snow in the skid to start with so I set the Zero to one thread tight.

2 miles in I add 7.75psi to the rear float.

20 miles in I have burned 32.33lbs of fuel and I loosen the Zero up half a thread.

40 miles down I have burned 56lbs of fuel, drank .78gal of water and pee'd 3 times so the limiter strap comes up one notch and the rear float goes down 8.5psi.

when did snowmobiling get so complicated... so here is the question... if you crap in the woods what adjustments are needed (besides new shorts!) :faint:

perhalps a skimmer to pull behind with a wall tent and hot chocolate machine. i'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess your riding an arctic cat given your need to feel prepared for the worst:becky:

I wanted to know how much extra weight I was carrying (on my body) so I could have a solid agrument with those individuals who think that sledding is not athletic!

So, one day I geared up and stood on the scales. Wearing everything I would leave the parking lot with, my gear/back/etc weighed in at close to 25#. That's a 15% increase above my normal "capacity". :face-icon-small-win

Now do not try to tell me that bearing that much more weight, while riding, in a standing position, is not athletic!! :boxing::boxing:

I don't give a rat's *** what I weigh with my gear on. I have an avy pack and lots of survival stuff in the pack. I will ALWAYS be prepared in the backcountry!

I do worry about staying in shape and keeping weight off...but if your worried about gear weight...you need to reevaluate what is important...surviving bad situations or getting that highmark!

I'm sure I'll regret posting this but here goes. I used to weigh myslef, 338...339... and now, all I get is E. I don't think it stands for excellent. So that's without clothes on. No sense adding my gear, it'll still be E. I'm guessing with all my gear I'm only 50 pounds lighter than my etec. I'm thinking time for a 4 stroke turbo. At least suspension setup is easy.......max

You might consider upgrading your scooter now too.:face-icon-small-sho

Sorry, couldn't resist.:face-icon-small-ton

Lol, that's a scary picture.

Well weighed myself with my gear for getting the shocks re-valved. I was really surprised on how much my clothes and gear really weighed, 22lbs! That's just my normal pack, shovel, helmet, and clothes. I guess that is one way to add some lead to my pants.
