Wear Bars vs Bedliner

I am going to purchase a newer GMC and they all seem to come with a spray in bedliner. I often carry my sled in the back of my truck. None of my sleds have carbides, just wear bars. After repeated use will the bedliner flake off? I only have experience with a plastic bedliners. Thx in advance.

I have a pair of 10x18” skids cut out of an old Bedliner, also have used plywood, I just place them on the tailgate, as the skis hit them they bite and slide in, slide back out as I back out.

One of my friends says he just puts down some roller stuff on the bed at the end of every season.

Mine came about because I had a diamond plate tailgate inner plate. It would slice and gouge bad without the skids, then they just stick and do the rest for you.

No experience with a sled in the back of a new GM product but I have had 2 GMC’s with the factory liner. It seems to hold up well for general use but it doesn’t seem as thick as the aftermarket ones I have had so not sure id trust it long term with a sled. Also if you have the fancy tailgate not sure id trust a sled getting loaded with the ramp just on the smaller top part, i would try and get something to spread it across both parts.

I have used the box of my Chevy as my sled hauler for the last two years. No noticeable wear issues.

We do the same. Never on ice or trails. Chains to get to local unloads, drop in powder.

I went to the junk yard and bought an old bedliner $25 and cut it up to fit in my truck.
