Watercraft Conversion Questions

Can you use the watercraft heads from a 700 on a 1050 and 800 on a 1200? What are the pros and cons of each vs using aftermarket?

Thanks

aftermarket WC heads such as power addiction are one piece to help solidify the motor and keep it from flexing, more dome choices for compression, and they look alot better IMO!

Thanks for the input, I do like the look of the one-piece version, but don't need the dome choices as I will only be at sea level and on a budget - lol! If anyone knows a reason not to use the watercraft heads, please let me know.

Thanks

The one piece billet heads and that beefy motorplate braces up the entire motor assembly. That torque might twist stuff, it is what the guys with most experience with this thing figured out.

X2.

You can fab up a tie plate like some of the watercraft guys did, but it is kind of a junk show. The cyl's will have to be tapped in the corners to hold the covers down and you can only use the non ves jugs for that. I used the stock watercraft domes in one of my set ups, but had a 1 pc cover for it. The outfit that made that cover is out of business now. The stock domes are kind of low compression, was able to cut them on a lathe to get the comp up a bit.

In the end, i would recommend not even going the stock watercraft dome/cover set up. Spend the money on Brad's... it is the way to go...

I just built 5 more engine kits If someone is interested in the kits. Everything you will need for the conversion for about 2000.00 One piece head like 4z said don't waste your time on the other stuff .

Brad

Spend the money on Brad's, I've had mine for 6 years and its still running like new, actually a lot better than when it was new! Its nice stuff and you won't find better customer service than with Brad. I'm in Alberta and most parts I've had to order from him have been here inside a week. And you won't find nicer looking parts.
