Water to air intercooler??

Great question!

Do we have any answers NM?
Yup!
It is about a 6 lb weight gain with heat exchanger, pump, and coolant.
Is it worth it? Sure is...every ounce.

When you really look at how effective an air to air intercooler is on a sled, well....

This kit will it fit a Mcx turbo system and with the Mtx tunel cooler?
And if so,when will this be ready to buy?
Hmmmm, if you can fit a heat exchanger in the tunnel, then it will work. I would have to look at one and see what the options are. We do have some tubular heat exchanger material that will take up very little space, but with the exhaust and the stock cooler, there is really no room for access to the inside of the tunnel.

Here are some pics of the one going on a friends Apex. We welded a XIC bracket to it so he can mount his fuel box under the hood.
We can actually use the top tank from pretty much any intercooler if it was sent to us. We just cut it off and weld it on to our water to air core. This will reduce the cost.

Neil will you be making one for an Impulse Nytro? What are you using for a cooler in the tunnel?

Thanks

I'm pumped to try it out on my sled. Looking forward to turning the boost down some and making just as much or more power. Winter cant come soon enough !!

We can build them for any turbo kit. Our core would fit on an Impulse tank so it would be no problem.
We are using the stock Yamaha tunnel cooler for the heat exchanger if you have an aftermarket tunnel. Otherwise we have a "U" cooler that you add in the tunnel.

Dropped my intercooler off at Neil and TJs shop this morning:face-icon-small-hap , they have a really nice shop and look like they are very busy for this time of year :yo:

Will I need to rejet my carbs if I do this on a T rx1?? I hate to mess with it because its right on, but this sounds to good not to try!

If you turn the boost down after the liquid/air then no but if you leave it at the same boost level then likely yes you will need to re jet as the colder air charge has a higher capacity to carry oxegen to the motor so you will need more fuel to compensate.

IAT's and turbo sizing

Gunner if you don't mind sharing what has been your IAT's during a pull? Also what turbo, boost, elevation was this at? Just playing around with some calcs passing the time.
