water temp sender

Where is the best place to hook up an aftermarket water temp sender on an M8? I am new to cat and dont have a clue!

i'd hit the coolant line right off the bottom of the motor, passes almost right under the recoil on the exhaust side. pull the can, look through the frame and you can't miss it. That's right off the motor and will provide the most accurate temp of the water FROM THE MOTOR. If you want the water temp going into the motor, hit the one hose before it goes into the head.

Ok, I have an M7...D'oh! can't say about the M8 but they can't be THAT different.....Sorry!!

Yep, I'd go with that spot. That is where i put mine on my M1000. And ya they will be the same

So I will have to get some kind of "T" fitting to patch into a hose? I hope it is easily accessible as there seems to be this strange turbo looking thing in the way.LOL.

Yep, there are different brands- I used a JTATV http://www.jtatv.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=2 fitting on mine (I did a temp tee fitting with a petcock on the end so I could drain the coolant when changing domes out.) Koso makes 'em as well and there are several others I'm sure.
