Got a water pump from a 97 700 twin that's got a bad bearing. After researching prices for the parts to rebuild it from Polaris, we decided to just go with a used housing with a water pump that is supposed to be in good working order for less than half of the parts just to rebuild the pump itself.
Then, a fella turned me onto NAPA for new bearings at a much more reasonable price so I got a couple of them, now I'm stuck with looking at a special seal that seems to be only available from Polaris and with a price tag of $58!! The seals for the newer Gen II's are not near as bad and run about $20, I'm curious as to what is different on them and if it's possible to take the cheap route and use that seal?
