Looking to take a visiting friend and his wife out on their new Yammi's Thursday. Thinking about hitting Alpine Loop/Cascade Springs area from the Midway side. 2 questions.

Anyone been up there recently - how is the snow/trails?

I've never accessed from the American Fork side, always the Midway side. Coming from SLC which way is "better"?

So I'm thinking not many have been up there this year....how about the Midway vs/ American Fork access questions?

Although I have not been up there this year, I can tell you that going from American Fork is usually not that good for snow coverage from Tibble Fork and the road is not groomed down that low. So if it were me I would go up and around to Midway to go instead. I ride up Snake Creek a lot and live in Salt Lake and I go to Midway.

the af side of the alpine loop is good i was just up the other day. The snow was excellent at least for AF.

Maybe you know this already, Avalanche danger is HIGH!!!!! As for a good trail ride, daniels summit is a great place to go.
