WARNING: DON'T OVERLOAD THE TUNNEL ON YOUR PRO RMK (Photos)

Depends on what you are doing. For me I need to carry gas and some other items for brush cutting etc. Longer distance riding. One of the benefits of having a long track is room on the tunnel. Kind of stinks that it doesn't hold up. I haven't had an issue yet with mine, but this thread has made me paranoid.

I think your angled tie down runners would give some extra stability. I would say unless your hammering the whoops on the trail or dropping in to a really flat landing in packed snow you'll be fine... :face-icon-small-win

That was my hope, that they would provide a bit of extra strength. I really don't thrash too hard...I just hope I don't hit something unexpected and bottom hard.

I have seen the tunnel with "Stand" more that 15 lbs.

Sorry no offense, but what an idiot............... This guy will do this kind of stuff and then get on Snowest and b*tch about what a POS it is when it breaks. No common sense at all!

Ever been stuck and stood on or walked on your tunnel? What's with the harsh response? Woulda never seen it, until MH dug this baby up. My tunnel on the last 2 RMKs have never bent. Poor riding/abuse bends tunnels

There is a huge difference between standing on your tunnel while it is sitting still and 20-30 pounds sitting on the back, all day, and bouncing up and down through moguls and jumps. I highly doubt he rides there all day so nothing to get worked up about.

i crumpled my tunnel only a month into having my first pro so i designed a bumper for my own sled to alleviate the problem,it turned better than i excpected, its only 2.8 pounds for the 55 so i decided to produce and sell them....i have a standard height in a 55 or 63 or a pack rack i call it with a tie down system so you can carry much heavier items....i pulled 4 sleds last year without incident,im using 6063 alluminum so there very strong and also keeps the weight down....if anyone is interseted please contact me 307-413-3196 there $225,my tunnel replacement was $3800 due to polaris not honoring the warranty so hopefully this will prevent an expensive fix and a month of riding lost
.

Nice cans in the third pic

PRO RMK 800

I've stood on my tunnel too...with no issues.. AND... I agree with Terry... big diff when you add serious g forces to the load back there.

Heavy stuff.... Choke up on the seat and don't put it at the back unless you have some kind of reinforcement installed.

There is a good reason the factory puts this decal on there.
