I don't want to "feel" warm, I want to be warm.

I will stick with good ol clothing and/or riding effort to stay warm.

If I have to take something to feel warmer, it is too cold out or I do not belong outside.

I answered yes thinking along the lines of what Phatty said, more for my Wife than me. If she rides with me (usually only once or twice a year) it's all trail riding and she gets cold easily (way too easily if you ask me:)).

Come to think of it, maybe I shouldn't do more for her to be comfortable, just so I don't have to do anymore trail riding!

Seriously though, most of the riding I do is in the mountains or off trail and like most have said you really don't need anything to warm you up.....cool down yes. But I can see that it might be good in an emergency situation, IF it can help someone who's injured or has to spend a night on the mountain more comfortable or alert without any negative consequences.

Maybe it should be marketed more towards trail riders, especially the ones who don't ride aggressively to keep their body temp up. Heck, they have heated seats, heated boot inserts, etc, I don't see why they wouldn't use a "warming" drink.

Enough talking about trail riding......I just had a flashback of being a kid and riding with my Mom, Sister, etc, and maintaining a steady pace of 15 mph for 8 hours straight.......talk about boring.........

i dunno, but i'll be carrying / trying 5 hr energy this year while sledding.
and water for hydration!
5 hr works great for me at work, and is small..as in, not filling.

good for an early morning start/drive to the mtns. and carry one for emergency...hiking out of the woods, or w/e...
maybe just need morphine for the emergency scenerio eh?...

with the 'better' energy drinks, i already feel warmer.. not sure how they'll work in the cold, but some definately get you, or keep you moving..

and no, i don't believe thinning your blood with alcohol is keeping you warmer. :P THAT is a prime example of an illusion of warmth.

but we all do what works for us.

I think it would be a great idea and I would definitely use it. I generally get super hot while riding. It's when I stop for a break (IE to have a drink and a snack) that I get cold. If a guy could have a drink and remain warn while on a break I would definitely use it!

NIACIN is found if most energy drinks so that would be in there, because what Im adding takes a little bit to get the muscles and everything to warm up and should last for quite a while.

It would be perfect for breaks, cuz when your workin your not cold but when to take a break you get cooler so if you drank this it would keep you going...
Thanks for helping me do the poll.... keep em comming..

Niacin was the first thing that came to my mind. You might be better off calling it a vitamin or mineral than a chemical. Sounds like something the mad doctor is cooking up
I try to keep to a minimum with the consumption of energy drinks when riding. I'm not saying I won't have one if I'm just plain tired, but overall I'm a water drinker.
I'm usually hot anyway. So, I'm more concerned with staying hydrated. Rather than drinking something that's going to dehydrate me even more. Or, is this one of those B vitamin energy drinks without the caffeine?
I'm sure it would find a place in winter X type sports though.

energy drink

I wold drink it that would be cool! Just make it! It doesn't matter what other people think! Just Do It
