what are your guys thought's on the best shock package?

Exit or Raptor?

or anything else you guys like.

i'm leaning towards exit shock's.

thanks for your help

I haven't ridden with Raptors yet. I have rode with Evol R's (Fox) and X1's (Exits).

Nothing compares to my X1's yet. You sacrifice a little weight but get a lot of shock!

Which is better a lamborghini or ferrari? Honestly I couldnt tell you but they both drive a heck of a lot nicer than a Geo... Can't go wrong either way with the exits or raptors as far as I'm concerned.

On the '13's you need to talk to Jake@Raptor about the front rear skid shock and what he plans to do with it. The 2013 pro has inner idler wheels up front there and the Raptor shock currently in use on the '11/12's has an external reservoir there that will get in the way. Jake might have to go with a non external reservoir on the front skid shock to get around this. Shouldn't be too big of a deal, the Raptors/kmod on my M8 doesn't have an external reservoir on the front skid shock either...

Does that make the Float R a Geo? :face-icon-small-sho

ordered up the raptors for the rear and the triple rate springs for the front!

i hope i'm happy!

Nice! for about $900 more(front Raptors) you will be in heaven. Go for it! BTW, your new front shocks are worth at least $100 each to someone who needs them to repair their damaged front end, so $700 away now.

What about just running without the idler wheels there at all?
Or what ended up being the result here for these rear shocks?
I was wanting to order the rears but...

x3 for Raptor

I put a set of Raptors on the front of my Pro, and his Springs on the back. Great purchase (possibly better than the shake weight, and waAay better than the ShamWOW!) Made the sled feel, well, like it should.
I have not ridden a Pro with Exits, but the Exits felt better on a dragon than the Evols to me. ( I have a set of evols on an IQR and like them too).
I haven't ridden a side by side between the Raptors and Exits on a Pro, but I liked the Raptors more than the Evols on the Pro for a side by side.
Customer service at Raptor was great!
I also bought a full set of his springs to put on my stock shocks on my poder Pro, and will compare that to bone stock as soon as we get a little more snow (and my fibula heals up).

When you are asking for advice on shocks, IMO, talk about the kind of riding that you are doing, any mods you have, your HONEST skill level...and then ask those that are giving you their opinion what they feel is better in their recommendation. What other shocks have they compared it to... if they were adjustable, were they adjusted correctly.

Also, their type of riding.. a strict trail basher or hillclimber might have a different experience base with their shock of choice.

In the better shocks, weather it be Exits, Fox, Raptor for the mountain sleds... they all have great features or function that are unique. The quality is there in all three as well.

Stock shocks are great for many, upraded stock shocks will cover even more, but in the those that need that "extra edge" or adjustablily in their ride... you cant go wrong with any of them. A particular brand will have those that are loyal to that brand... it goes with dropping hard earned money on the shocks.

Good luck in your choice.

Anyone know the exact weight difference between all four Pro WE shocks and Raptors or Exits? I've handled a front 13 WE stocker and a front Exit side by side. The Exits are works of art, but felt a good 2+ lbs heavier. I would expect Raptors to be similar by comparison. Also wondering how much weight can be saved on either going with Ti main springs. I'm sure the ride quality with Exits or Raptors is night and day compared to stock, but the weight penalty sucks.

Also wondering if anyone has tried Custom Axis shocks on the Pro (or any sled for that matter). I run Custom Axis on my race quad but have never used them on a sled. They are by far the best shock I have ever run on a quad, and I've used a range of high end quad shocks and stock conversions set up for competitive quadcross. What's most impressive is Axis shocks with dual rate steel springs are 1/2 lb lighter than the comparable Fox Float X.

A little bit apples to oranges comparison, but it's remarkable how light the Axis shocks are given the amazing performance and durability they provide. If Axis designs their sled shocks in the same way, they might be the best way to minimize weight gain over the Pro WEs.
