Wanted, '13 Pro rolling chassis.

Looking for a way to get a hold of a '13 Pro chassis, less engine, wiring, and skid. Need everything else, to throw a Suzuki in it. So is there a way to get one without over paying or is it better to buy one and sell off the parts.

I'd say you'll be better off buying a new one and selling the parts you don't want. You'd have a better chance imo selling the new motor, pipe, harness that can fit into 11/12 pros fairly easily, than finding someone who gutted one and is sellin off the rolling chassis. good luck, let us know how the build goes :face-icon-small-coo

I would bet it would be cheaper to buy one and part out the parts u don't want... But IMO I think it would be easier/cheaper to install a Carl's or par 900/910 bb kit. U get the reliability of individual jugs and the performance. Plus u r keeping the orientation of the Polaris motor the same(vertical vs horizontal design). This in turn gives u manufacturer reliability of wire, pipe, drivetrain mounting and chassis design. Thats just my take on it... U would have to modify a lot of good things that makes the pro a great balanced, easy to use, and simple designed chassis. But good luck man!!

You would be better off finding a '11 or '12 adding the belt drive and changing the boards. You wouldn't have the same cross member. But hey, if you put in the legendary suzuki motor then it doesn't matter what weight you have. It will never blow up, last 5 million miles and power the Pro over Everest!

I think that installing an aftermaket BB kit would cure the engine problems that some of the Pros might have. Wouldnt that be alot simpler than going that route? Unless boost is an option then the zuki mill would likely be the answer.

I want a turbo and the suzuki crank is like comparing a gas motor to a cummins.

It prob would be cheaper to take an '11 and convert but I want to start with new or all but new everything, clutches, bearings etc... I am pretty sure if I can sell the pro stuff it will more than cover the Suzuki parts. Just never know if someone has a way of getting a hold of one ready to go so I thought I would ask. So If I'm going to BB I would rather run a 925 Suz. than anything polaris, no offense, and I know the cat engine really well, but since they arent building mtn sleds anymore I would rather the pro even if it does blow up. IMO, the pro is the only mtn sled on the market, just needs a better engine.

I know what I want so now I'm just figuring out how to make it happen.
How much can I get out of the parts do you think.

Thats some funny $hit right there.

Well u got quite a bit of modification to fit a Suzuki motor into the pro. Intake and pipe fitment is going to be a challenge, not to mention engine mounting. I don't think comparing a gas motor to a Cummins bottom end to the CFi vs the zuki is true... But if u r determined to modify and potentially loose reliability in other senses( sticking a Suzuki motor into a chassis totally not designed to fit it) have fun and I hope u have deep pockets!

May have a 2012 chassis that has a avid extended chaincase that you could put a c3 belt system into it. It also has Van Amburg running boards and tunnel support setup. If i where to sell it it would be the chassis only with the drive system(shafts). No steering but it would have the overstructure. The tunnel does have a extra ucooler in it that i used for a intercooler.

I think you would be better off putting Brad's 1100 motor in it and calling it good...sell the stock 13' Pro engine for $4000 and put that toawrds the price of the 1100.

Should be a solid engine and more then enough to keep with a M8 Turbo:face-icon-small-ton

At our altitude I find that very hard to believe.

Also, for the price of that motor, you could pay a shop to install a boosted suzuki motor & have $$ to spare.

The claimed on this thing is 220 hp. That's at sea level, bring it up here and it's down to less than 140 hp at the top of my riding area.

Any decent boosted sled will be beyond that around here.

Funny how good the polaris motor koolaid must taste, I'll have to try it some day. (I'm getting a 13... maybe I'll try a sip)

It's yummy! LOL

Sell off everything but what you need from your M8. Buy 13 poo. Sell everything you don't need from that sled...If you start now you should be able to start riding around march or april:face-icon-small-ton

This is about doing something new...I haven't saw a 'zuki in a pro yet.

Kick this project in the teeth, lets hear the Jap ponies roaring up the hills behind round lake this year!

Brad is at 6,000 and above...and your HP isnt going to drop but maybe 10-20hp depending on supporting mods.

Majority of dyno's in the world use a correction factor that makes the numbers read as if it was at sea level. That way an engine at 5000ft DA should dyno the same at sea level, corrected anyways.

However we don't race or ride dyno's, they're just a tool.

It will take some doing but hard isn't a word I've had to use in a long time. (put a 520cc rotax in a 91 poo atv when I was 18, no problem there) If you've seen the mods on my current sled you would understand. The idea is to not eat a lot of cost but it will take a lot of time, thinking mainly. If I can do it as planned there are several that would be interested. I just wish poo would pick up suzuki when cat lets go. Hopefully they don't if I go through with this, lol.

I would rather keep the current sled as a testing base.

That's going to be a badda$$ sled when she's done! It's tough to beat the Suzuki 8 under boost. Don't know that I'd call it a cummins as I have a blown tm8 in the garage and the cummins still runs great. I'm thinking that unless you want to start with used parts the best route would be to go buy a new one and sell off what you don't want.

Have you priced out all the individual parts you want that would need to be new? A lot of things wouldn't matter if they were used or not as their not moving parts I.e. plastics, fuel tank, tunnel, bulkhead, spindles ect...
It might be more cost effective to buy a used rolling chassis and upgrade all the moving components to new.

How do you plan on doing the fueling system? Or do you plan on using the cat tank and fuel pump?
