want to increase hp in 06 m7

Having been down this road with a '06 M7.....I dumped $$ into it, did the typical mods, then did the Engine-Tech 900. BUT I did this before there was a M-1000 available. My .02, you will be $$ ahead and have much better performance, reliebility and fewer headaches if you sell and buy a M8 or M1000. JMO-:beer;

Now WB don't go trying to dissuade the gentleman from buying my RKT head, SW pipe and can hahaha jk :beer;

Jaws twins unplug the ethonal setting, and clutch it and you wont have a m-8 out run you.

What kind of riding do you do? I did a head mod,SLP can, new gearing and clutching. But I ride 8000+.

agree with WB
the m7 is a starter sled, leave it alone or sell it and get a m8 m1000. If you want more power you will never get enough out of a m7.

I dont think the m-7 is a starter but that being said There was a rkt 800 kit in the swapmeet and that will make your sled kill a new m-8 they run awsome we have three in our group. The clutch kit also works good

I agree with Tatorsalad. Just dropped an RKT 800 on my 06 M7 and the low end is noticeably improved. Granted, I haven't ridden it more than 20' up onto the sled deck, but she's got more power down low...a lot more than stock. Best part is if you want to run it on stock exhaust (ie., limited budget) you don't need a Boony box. I ran out of $$ so next year's upgrade will be the Boony box to go with the speedwerx pipe I have sitting on the work bench that I can't use this year. :mad: Oh well. More power next year!! :D :beer;

Agree with tatorsalad and likkerpig: Easiest and cheapest power if you put 800 kit in it.

I put RacingStation 800 kit in mine and love it. No fuel mods needed with stock pipe. Now moving forward: timing, fuel box, intake, pipe etc...

I have a m1000 and I am still chasing my buddies m7 snowflap!!! cutler 1000 big-bore, 215 hp, 420lb package, flat out rips!!!

My buddie has a m7 and was claiming the same about beating m1000's I weigh 60lbs more then him and stomped his m7 on my 07 m1000, you have problems.

One of the best 800 bb m7's i've ever seen has been beat by a stock m8. the bb puts out the same hp as the m7 but more torque, put the same amount of money in a m8 and you will beat a stock m1000 of the same year. the cultler 1000 does rip but I have beat them on my 09 piped m1000. half of the m7's people mod wind up making less power or have problems, its a great sled just the way it is, just make sure everthing is working the way it should. When they first came out one local dealer had m7's that flat stomped the ones from another dealer, it was all in setup.

so.................you are telling me that my m1000 with 175hp and 490lbs should beat my buddies m7/1000big bore with 215hp and 420 lbs?

I said piped m1000, and not your buddies,
also a few other things(more like 200+hp not 175) and not much more weight. I would say it could be close depending on what all is done. My point is when it is so much easier to get power out of the m8/m1000 why bother with an extreme mod that requires race gas, if I put that kind of money in mine it wouldn't even be a question. like I said the m7 is great the way it is.
