Well you came to the right place...i want to sell this sled and soon. I have gotten a lot of responces on it but no one has actually come to my house. I manage a furniture store so my hours are a little tight and i dont really need the money..what i do need is the space and to pay off my atv..thats what im using the money for. Now about the sled. They did race them in 99 but as of todays standards the carb is 39-40 now days they have 49 mm i believe it is carbs...that will play a differece. However it is a two stroke oil injected sled. The other factor is for serious racing like it sounds like you will be doing if you want to snow cross you want to reinforce some areas...like a three pipe racing exaust and a racing light weight clutch. So any sled you get you will need to dump some money in to be race ready...like a pull switch engine kill switch...i will be racing atvs this spring and i bought a new raptor 700 then dumped almost as much as it cost in parts...just to give you an idea. No sled comes race ready....i got 12,000 invested in my race atv...if you come by the house i will show you it...but some of the same things you must do to your sled....if you are talking about just racing your friend that is different...this sled will do 110-120 MPH. but not in deep powder. It would be excellent on a trail or track with snow and it will do deep poweder as i was in that first snow..but honestly sledding is new for me...racing is not...nor is putting together sick machines....Ive been around trails for bikes , atvs, dirt bikes all my life and now sleds...but i hate winter so it was a mistake for me...so you probably know more about sleds than me..but if you want a solid running fast sled great mine is a #1 choice..but if you buddy has a 2004-2007 sled you wont tuch him on anything that is not just as new...and a 2004 will be smoked but a 2007. They keep making them faster and better. and new body styles. but if you buddy has a 2001 now you stand a chance. or around the same age...if he has a 94 you will smoke him....you get the idea...my sled is fast but its all relitive. Now that ive said my part..i really want you to come and see it it is mint and its time it gets out of my garage. It comes with so many new things and bags. and the season has started. Right now if you bought it you would get about $40 of gass in the tank as well..but i do ride it...ive only been on it two times i dont have much time to ride..but i will keep riding it till i sell it i do love it..my girlfriend hates it and thats the major force behind selling it. The track is new on the sled..it is studded. It comes with the cover, it comes with a two up seat if you wanted your girl to come. It is not installed and is an after market part. It has reverse. the entire machine is mint from the paint to the shocks. It has the X10 fox shock package and it is so nice feeling. I got a little bit of air last ride and i loved the feel..you feel totally in control and its a nice soft ride. I really love this sled. The skis have been upgraded to the new light weight ones ...you can call me to talk about it if you like. I do have a guy comming to see me tonight but the more the better. Like i said no one has come so far so this is the first one. Unless you want to stop over first or at the same time. Ive found an atv for my girl but until the sled moves out i dont have the room..you will see when you see my garage. Thanks for writing me and i hope we get a chance to talk. My name is Jeremy and my cell is 315-481-1500 ...maybe you want to look up Polaris XLT it is the year 1999 and the engine is the one you want. It is a mono block 600cc tripple and is made in fuji so it is not one of the problem engines from the year 95..those are the only ones that were bad...all other XLTs were knows as one of the most reliable engines of all time. And 99 being the best year..but you can look that all up as well if you like. All reports will show this being a #1 sled.
