Walker Evans Needle Shocks

After getting close to a thousand miles this season i would like to throw out another review of the Needle shocks. I cant say enough about the great customer support and service from Max at Tri-City Performance. He set me up with some custom valved shocks with single rate springs which he knew would work best with out running a sway bar. and let me tell you, for all of you iq riders that like to ride with no sway bar these shocks are the real deal! i started off the season with them on my sled and never quite realized how big of a difference they really make until i ran some different shocks over this last weekend, while one my needles were being repaird. (hit a tree HARD last week and wiped out the front left side) These shocks give you the stability of a sway bar on the trail, allow you the independent side to side stability needed to be an aggressive tree rider, and have the adjustment to go from mogul bump eaters to steep terrain shocks in a matter of seconds. anyone considering these shocks i'd say go for it! you will not be dissapointed. I cant wait to get my Needles back on for this coming weekend!

had needles on the front of my 09 dragonsp loved them gobbled up everything. bought an assault this year same shocks still love em

Mine are NOT the same as the assualt. Mine came from Tri-City and they have a different dual rate spring than the stock assualts. I'm running mine on the soft side and still have the sway bar installed (for now).

got my front end back together last night and almost ready to rock! The Needle shocks worked perfectly last year. Anyone considering a pair should get a hold of max at tri-city performance. He is the man when it comes to these shocks, he can set them up specifically for your riding style! its amazing how big of a difference the right shocks can make on the way you ride, and give you a little edge and comfort to push yourself to a new level.

I'm going to be installing a set (w/dual rate springs) from Tri-City on my 07 RMK Dragon. I did notice that I am going to have to either cut part of the fender out or heat and re-shape it a little to make room for the reservoir. This is not a problem with the new style plastics, but for those with the older front a little modification will be needed.

Does anyone have a picture of these on a sled with the older plastics??? I'd like to see what you did and how it turned out.

havent done any on the 08 polaris plastics, but have done a few on m-series sleds, same story not enough room for the chamber, we just took a heat gun and allowed the plastic to get hot but not completely melt, then pushed up from the bottom to create a little more room for the shock. worked out pretty slick

That was my thought also. It would give the sled a 4X4 Pre-Runner race truck look...or a Dragon with it's fangs showing!

did you have to manipulate the plastics?

No, they fit as is, even at full compression when the A-arms rise and the bottom of the shock moves outward. I thought I would have to remove some of the plastic or heat and bend it, but that was not the case.

Sledless, J Kinzer's pictures are the same shocks from TCP with a single rate spring.
