I have a 2004 KTM 525 EXC. I live in Washington state and ride the north cascades and Mt. Baker. My question is will a ST kit handle the deep snow on Baker with all the long hill climbs. Or is the LT kit the way to go.

I have survived with the old st but I have a 146x2.5 to install next week.

I'd go LT!

How much do you weigh?

You can find youtube videos of reagen sieg and he runs an SX in deep powder with out issue.

My two cents? whatever you can find cheaper (and comes with the new 10" ski!)

I have riden all 3 kits. I have husaberg 570 with long track. In the open areas at baker in deep snow the long track is the best. At snoqualmie areas in the trees or on most riding days (anything except deep fresh powder) I think the short track is just fine. Don't pass up on either if you can get a good deal. Truthfully if I could do over I'd get the short track. Just not that many deep powder days to make the long track worth it.
