VP road ride

Enough snow for a road ride on VP but not much snow. Drove truck into hut and everything was packed down. Starry skies on pass but dumping hard from West side of pass all the way to Eagle.

Yeah I canned that idea this morning. Went over berthoud and checked JP as well. Weak.

A few friends of mine were up there riding today (road only) and they put in some miles. Not much snow at parking lot, but once past the ****ters near the huts they said there was around 2' of total snow on the ground. Up higher, they said there was around 12" of new snow, with close to 3' on the ground. Said it was snowing hard when they loaded up at 4pm. Still a ways to go, but enough for a quick road ride. Hoping the storm at the end of this week is a good one.

Hey guys...new to snowmobiling in CO...would love to get out tomorrow just for a road ride to test the new sled.

Whats the deal with VP just go up park and ride up the road? Do they officially open at some point?

I think it's $6 a sled at the little station in the parking lot. The parking is literally right off the highway ramp. Once you park just jump on the road and follow it back. A week ago there was okay snow back there. Not sure about now.

I was there a week ago yesterday; "enough" on the road, but barely. I needed to get out yesterday to verify a new thermostat fixed the overheating issues I had LAST Sunday @ VP; decided against the drive to VP, found enough snow near Corona to verify.

*Last* week, the road was turning brown (I parked near the outhouses) between the pavement & outhouses; I speculated that the week was not kind to the road.

*I* would not take a day off work tomorrow - I suspect that it is snirt by now. It needs to snow. Badly.
