Vortec Max Mileage?

Anybody have a 1/2 ton chevy with the vortec max 6.0L, what mileage are they making?

best my brother got with his was like 18 on hwy.. but he averaged 10-15 i believe driving it decent.. put your foot into it.. and it goes way way down

I have a friend who says it can be better that his 5.3 if he keeps his foot out of it.

Have the 07 vortec max and I'm getting just under 15 around town daily driving.

getting about 18.5 on long trips unloaded, and about 10.5 with a 4 place open trailer loaded with 4 mt sleds.

I get about the same, maybe a little less with the 20' enclosed.

Edit: with the Active Fuel Mgmt system, you can cruise on a level road @ freeway speeds and see 25 to 28 mpg in 4 cyl mode.

My dad has an 08' Silverado Vortec Max, I think he said he was getting like 16-17 @ 75 MPh with it ... about 19 @ 65.

I think he's been getting 14-ish around town with it.
