Voltage Reg Swap

My voltage reg on my 08 D8 went out this weekend, and i have a spare 09 RMK 800 in my garage. the shop is saying its going to take a few weeks for a new one. so im wondering if pulling the VR off the RMK and thowing it on the D8 is ok. I pretty sure the motor is the same between the two. thanks

Why is it going to take a few weeks to get one? Polaris two day air freights all light weight freight and they are currently in stock, just ordered more this morning
